According to a report, eight teams showed interest in a trade for Deshaun Watson before the quarterback's legal issues arose.

The report named the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and Washington Football Team as those that inquired.

Things have changed drastically over the last month. Since then only the Broncos and Dolphins haven't made a offseason move at quarterback.

Deshaun Watson has had his endorsement contract with Nike suspended amid allegations of sexual assault and harassment.

“We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and have suspended Deshaun Watson,” Nike said in a statement released Wednesday. “We will continue to closely monitor the situation.”

Watson has been accused of sexual assault or harassment in lawsuits filed by 22 women. One of those women, Ashley Solis, said Tuesday during a news conference that she was assaulted and traumatized when she tried to give Watson a massage in March 2020.

The NFL issued a statement about the ongoing Deshaun Watson situation after one of his alleged victims revealed her identity and spoke to the media.

Ashley Solis called herself “a survivor of assault and harassment” at the hands of Watson.

“The allegations are deeply disturbing and we take these issues very seriously,” NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy said in a statement to PFT. “Immediately following news of the first allegations last month, and as has been reported, we initiated an investigation under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. We are continuing to closely monitor all developments in the matter.”

According to a source, the NFL has been in contact with attorney Tony Buzbee. 

The Houston Texans continue to receive trade interest on Deshaun Watson despite his uncertain legal issues concerning alleged sexual misconduct with a number of massage therapists. 

The Texans, however, have remained consistent in their position that Watson is not available for trade discussions. 

The Texans signed Tyrod Taylor but they could also consider signing Alex Smith should Watson either be traded or unavailable to play.
