The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be without DeSean Jackson for two weeks because of an abdominal strain, according to sources.

A doctor recommended surgery, which would have sidelined him for about six weeks, but Jackson wants to return as soon as possible.

It was reported on Wednesday that the Philadelphia Eagles offered Jordan Howard and a swap of mid-round draft picks to the Los Angeles Chargers for Melvin Gordon.

The talks didn't gain any traction.

The Eagles acquired Howard in an offseason trade with the Chicago Bears.

"I didn't hear about that, but that's not my job, to worry about it, my job is just to focus on what's on hand right now," Howard said of the rumors. "That doesn't really make me feel any kind of way. It's good people are interested in me or whatever."

The Philadelphia Eagles offered Jordan Howard and a mid-round pick swap to the Los Angeles Chargers for Melvin Gordon.

The Chargers rejected the offer as they would have been also required to pay a portion of Gordon's salary.

Philadelphia acquired Howard from the Bears this offseason in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round pick.
