Darren Sproles Agrees To Re-Sign With Eagles

Jul 20, 2019 10:22 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to re-sign Darren Sproles.

Sproles was supposed to retire after the 2017 season, but he didn't want his career to end with a torn ACL. Sproles returned and had injuries in 2018 as he battled a hamstring ailment.

Sproles ranks sixth all-time in all-purpose yards (19,520).

Doug Pederson: This Season A 'Great Opportunity' For Carson Wentz

Jul 18, 2019 8:50 AM

Carson Wentz has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons, but Doug Pederson says the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has a "great opportunity" coming this season.

"This is also a great opportunity for Carson, to really regain the type of player he is to what we saw in 2017, and really what we saw in 2018 when he was playing," Pederson said. "He is a tremendous competitor. He is a tremendous leader, and quite frankly, I don't think a lot of that bothers him. He just moves on. He is excited for this new season. It is a new team, there are new guys around him. He is energized, he feels good and I am just excited for that."

The Eagles signed Wentz to a massive contract extension this offseason.

Duce Staley 'Very Pleased' With New Eagles Running Backs

Jul 1, 2019 8:36 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles have consistently shuffled their backfield during Duce Staley's time as the team's running backs coach.

This offseason, the Eagles traded for Jordan Howard and drafted Miles Sanders in the second round.

"I think that you talk to those guys, they'll all tell you that ... to get better, which you want those guys to think that way, be humble, especially when it comes to catching the ball and understand where to be," Staley said. "That's one of my things as far as route running. You've got to understand the offense, and you've got to understand the progression of the offense, which is very important. And for those two guys to come in and kind of learn that rather quickly, I’m very pleased."

In addition to Howard and Sanders, the Eagles have Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood.
