Carson Wentz Understands Frustrations Of Eagles' Fans

Nov 27, 2019 5:33 PM

Carson Wentz has become the primary focus of fan frustration for the first time in his career and he understands the reasons for the angst.

"They have a right to be frustrated," Wentz said. "They pay money to sit in those seats. They pay money to cheer us on, and they're so passionate about it. And I'm the same way. So when they're frustrated, I'm frustrated, too."

The offense has scored a total of 19 points in consecutive losses to the Seahawks and Patriots.

"I have so much confidence in my ability to turn this around and do my best and get these things fixed," Wentz said, "that I don't get too high or too low going through these things."

Brandon Brooks Forced Off Field With Anxiety Setback

Nov 25, 2019 10:22 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles were without guard Brandon Brooks for a good portion of Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Brooks has battled anxiety throughout his career and explained what happened on social media.

"I'd like to address what happened yesterday," Brooks wrote. "I woke up, and did my typical routine of morning vomiting. It didn't go away like it normally does, but I figured it would calm down once I got to the stadium. It did, but I felt exhausted. The nausea came back, and I tried to battle through it and went out for the first drive. The nausea and vomiting came back until I left the field, and tried everything I could to get back for my teammates but just wasn't able to do it. Make no mistake I'm NOT ashamed or embarrassed by this nor what I go through daily. I've had this under control for a couple of years, and had a setback yesterday. The only thing I'm upset about is that when my team needed me, I wasn't able to be out there with and for them. Lastly, I appreciate the support of my coaches, teammates and fans. It doesn't go unnoticed."

Doug Pederson said the team supports Brooks and wants to help him.

DeSean Jackson will have surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles said.

Jackson reinjured his abdomen in Sunday's win against the Chicago Bears. He originally suffered the injury in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. He returned Sunday after missing six games, but only made it through one series.

The recovery time is expected to be at least six weeks, putting Jackson's season in jeopardy.
