Marshawn Lynch Suspended One Game By NFL

Oct 20, 2017 7:51 PM

Marshawn Lynch has received a one-game suspension by the NFL.

Lynch was suspended for his actions in Thursday night's game, in which he made contact with an official, drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and was ejected.

Lynch will appeal the suspension.

"You made deliberate physical contact with one of our game officials as he was diffusing an active confrontation between players," NFL VP of football operations Jon Runyan wrote in a letter to Lynch, according to the league's release. "You were disqualified for your inappropriate and unsportsmanlike actions. Your conduct included pushing the game official and grabbing his jersey ... You were not directly involved in the active confrontation that the game official was attempting to diffuse, nor were you a participant in the play that initiated the confrontation. You were the only player from either team who ran from the sideline to midfield to insert himself into a situation in which he was not directly involved."

Marshawn Lynch Ejected After Making Contact With Official

Oct 20, 2017 11:03 AM

Marshawn Lynch was ejected from the Oakland Raiders' win over the Kansas City Chiefs after running onto the field during a scuffle in which he subsequently pushed and grabbed an official.

Lynch appeared to be trying to get Marcus Peters, who was penalized on the play for a late hit on Derek Carr. Lynch and Peters are good friends who grew up in Oakland together.

Contact with an official is an automatic ejection.

"I was disappointed that he ran out because I knew we had a 15-yard penalty and we were going to be in good shape," Del Rio said after the game. "I didn't get a chance to, like, have a conversation about it. I told him you can't leave the bench like that. And that was about it. Next thing I knew he was being tossed. The ref told me actually had put his hands on him. I didn't see that occur. Obviously, you can never put your hands on an official and he was DQed."

Oct 12, 2017 11:06 PM

The NFL has reached out to the San Francisco 49ers about moving the Oakland Raiders' game in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers to Levi's Stadium due to air quality concerns.

The Raiders have had their practices cut short due to air quality from the fires in the Bay Area.

Levi's Stadium is located several miles south of Oakland in Santa Clara and hasn't been impacted as harshly by the fires.

Levi's Stadium was built with the possibility of being shared by two home teams.

Raiders Cut Practice Short As Wildfires Affect Air Quality

Oct 12, 2017 8:50 AM

The Oakland Raiders cut practice short by 30 minutes on Wednesday due to poor air quality.

The wildfires ravaging California made it hard for players to breathe.

"You definitely could smell it," Jalen Richard said. "We'll see. They asked us about how we feel."

Many high school and youth sporting events have been canceled because of fears about smoke inhalation in the area. Fires in California have burned 170,000 acres and killed 23 people this week.

Raiders LT Donald Penn Confronts Fan In Parking Lot

Oct 9, 2017 8:08 AM

Oakland Raiders left tackle Donald Penn had a verbal altercation with fans as he left the players' parking lot following Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

A video shows fans outside the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum yelling at Penn, with one looking ready to fight as the lineman got out of his car and approached the group. Only a metal barricade and a few security guards wearing yellow jackets separated player and fans before police arrived.

Penn returned to his car before the situation got worse. He later tweeted that the fan threw a bottle at his car, but that he should have demonstrated better judgment and remained inside his vehicle.

"He said he's sorry," Del Rio said of Carr. "Great kid. He'll bounce back. I told him that the team will take care of business while he's healing and just get healed up and when he can come back, he'll come back."
