Raiders Haven't Given Up Yet On Jim Harbaugh

Dec 28, 2014 12:38 PM

Despite reports of a deal in place between Jim Harbaugh and Michigan, the Oakland Raiders plan to pursue him as soon as the season ends.

While still under contract to the 49ers through 2015, Harbaugh is not allowed to talk to other NFL teams, but the 49ers can grant that permission if they choose.

Harbaugh was pursued by Texas last offseason and turned down Michigan in the past.

According to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, University of Michigan officials, including interim athletic director Jim Hackett, will be in the Bay Area this weekend following the San Francisco 49ers' finale to speak with Jim Harbaugh face-to-face for the first time.

Many believe that a return to Michigan is in the cards for the former Wolverines quarterback ever since a reported six-year, $48 million offer was made to the embattled head coach by the school earlier this month.

Sparano: Latavius Murray Can Become Featured Running Back

Dec 26, 2014 12:52 PM

Tony Sparano believes Latavius Murray can become a featured running back for the Oakland Raiders.

"Early in the season, it took us a while to figure that part of it out," Sparano said, per CSN Bay Area. "He's a guy that was hurt all year last year. Latavius has really come into his own, and I think he can handle the workload of being a No. 1 guy."

Over his last four games played -- including the 112-yard outburst against the Kansas City Chiefs -- Murray has averaged 83.3 yards per game, 5.4 yards per carry, with eight runs of 10-plus yards and two touchdowns.
