Mark Davis Hopes To Keep Raiders In Oakland
Raiders owner Mark Davis, who previously has said he isn't opposed to relocating the franchise, says he hopes to keep the team in Oakland.
Davis denied he is courting Los Angeles as a potential home.
"Oakland is my preference, though," he said. "I see us as an urban team, being in a city. I want it to work here. I'd like to stay here.
"But we have to find a way to (generate more revenue). We need people buying season tickets. We're in a deficit-spending situation, and we need to start getting our revenue up."
The Raiders moved to Los Angeles from Oakland in 1982, then returned to the Bay Area for the 1995 season.

Darren McFadden took part in Oakland's voluntary workouts on Tuesday, a good sign after an injury ended his 2011 season early.
"He's one of our most explosive players on offense," coach Dennis Allen said. "He's a dangerous weapon. We're looking forward to finding different ways of using him and kind of exploiting his talents."

Raiders GM: Palmer Trade Doesn't Bother Me
The Raiders gave up a lot to get Carson Palmer midway through the 2011 season, a move that new general manager Reggie McKenzie has to live with.
Oakland missed the playoffs despite giving up a first-round pick and a conditional second-round selection for Palmer.
"You can beat that doggone story 'til it's worn out," McKenzie said. "But I know this: We've got a quarterback we think can win the division and take us to the playoffs. Losing a one and a two doesn't bother me one bit."

The NFL Network will probably not extend Warren Sapp's contract when it expires in August 2012.
The former defensive tackle recently declared bankruptcy, listing his income as $45,000 per month from NFL Network.
The Boston Herald reports, citing two league sources, that Sapp's employment is "likely over," and that Sapp has not been on NFL Network in the two-plus weeks since he went on the air and outed former Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey as the player who blew the whistle on the New Orleans bounty system in 2011.

Palmer: Oakland's Playbook Fits Personnel
Carson Palmer has a copy of Oakland's playbook and he believes it fits the team's personnel.
Under the collective bargaining agreement, teams were forbidden from handing out playbooks or gathering together before Monday.
"I think it's really going to fit the personnel we have," Palmer said.
"The style of play with the offensive line and the zone running scheme, and the speed we have in the backfield, it's built for making a read, making one cut, and getting vertical and putting pressure on the defense with our speed and our running backs just heading north when they find the hole in that zone."
