David Tyree Leaving Front Office Role With Giants

Jun 23, 2020 10:15 AM

David Tyree has left his role as director of player development with the New York Giants.

He's held the role since 2014 after spending most of his playing career with the team.

Tyree is best known for the helmet catch in the Super Bowl XLII upset of the New England Patriots.

"I was honored to serve and impact the players for the past six years for the most iconic franchise in NFL history," Tyree said. "I wish the Giants and Coach [Joe] Judge the best moving forward into the 2020 season. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to my personal and professional growth along the way. Once a Giant always a Giant."

The New York Giants will allow season ticket holders to defer buying their seats for 2020 without affecting their status for future seasons due to COVID-19.

The New England Patriots announced a similar plan last week, but indicated it applies to fans with COVID-19 risk factors.

Other teams are holding back half the inventory for their single game ticket sales.

Rosas was driving a black Chevrolet SUV on Tuesday morning when a T-bone collision occurred. Witnesses saw Rosas driving erratically over the double yellow lines and at a speed estimated to be 100 mph when he ran a red light and hit a Ford pickup truck.

Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash.
