Daniel Jones Could Miss Time With Hamstring Injury

Nov 29, 2020 9:50 PM

The New York Giants believe Daniel Jones suffered a "pretty bad" hamstring injury in Sunday's win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East despite a 4-7 record and no wins against a team with a winning record.

Jones was injured at the end of a 7-yard run early in the third quarter. He briefly reached for the back of his right leg while on the ground, but remained in the game.

DeAndre Baker Has All Charges Dropped

Nov 16, 2020 1:00 PM

All charges connected to an alleged robbery with a firearm have been dropped against DeAndre Baker.

Baker originally charged with four counts of armed robbery and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm for allegedly taking jewelry and cash at gunpoint during a dice game in Miramar, Florida, in May.

Baker was told to remain away from the New York Giants this spring while his legal issue played out.

A South Florida attorney was arrested on Monday for attempting to extort Baker on behalf of three of the alleged victims.

William Dean, 50, was looking for Baker to pay more than $266,000 to each of his clients, who in turn would do "anything you want, so long as the money is right."

The victims had already recanted their sworn statements last month in affidavits obtained by ESPN.

Baker was a first round pick in 2019 out of Georgia.

Joe Judge: NFC East Standings Are Irrelevant

Nov 16, 2020 9:05 AM

The New York Giants gained ground in the NFC East race with Sunday's 27-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles are in first at 3-5-1, but the Giants improved to 3-7 heading into their bye week.

The division race among sub-.500 teams isn't something Joe Judge plans to discuss with his team this week.

“I have not, and I'll tell everyone right now, it's irrelevant," Judge said. "The only thing that matters is we keep improving as a team and go 1-0 every week. The overall standings, we’re not going to look at those, we're not going to focus on those; that’s not an emphasis in our organization. We’ve got to keep improving as a team to give ourselves a chance to be the best program we can be."

Joe Judge: PI Should Have Been Called On Two-Point Conversion

Nov 3, 2020 8:38 AM

Joe Judge wasn't happy that a pass interference flag initially called against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the New York Giants' last-gasp two-point conversion attempt was picked up.

Judge said after the game that back judge Nate Jones correctly threw a flag for interference and shouldn’t have been overruled by his fellow officials. The two-point conversion would have tied the game.

"I thought Nate made the right call when he threw the flag," Judge said. "So, I'm not sure why it got picked up. We had a pretty good view, I know they can't use the Jumbotron as the replay. We had a pretty good view of that as well, But, you know, I thought Nate made the right call the first time. I thought, normally, your first instinct is right. So, that's all I'm gonna say about the officiating. ... I thought our guys played hard. We've got to put ourselves in position that we can have success and not bring a third party in as a factor. It's tough enough to beat the Bucs."
