Eli Manning Was Peyton Manning's Third Favorite Player

Jan 24, 2020 11:18 AM

Eli Manning was the third favorite player of his brother Peyton Manning.

"I'm happy for Eli, because I know he's at peace and he put a lot of time and thought into this decision," Manning said. "But I am sad, because I won't get to see him play anymore. And after my dad and Dan Marino, Eli really was my favorite player. So I have to find a new one. But for really 19 years going back to his three years at Ole Miss, 16 years in the NFL, I have enjoyed watching him play, watching him compete, watching him grow into a man. It's been a heck of a run."

The Mannings also have an older brother Cooper Manning.

Eli Manning Retires At Age 39

Jan 23, 2020 11:13 AM

Eli Manning is retiring from the NFL at the age of 39 after 16 NFL seasons.

While he largely had an inconsistent career and was largely considered to be a lesser quarterback compared to his contemporaries, Manning did win a pair of Super Bowl MVPs with improbable playoff runs in 2007 and 2011. Manning's Hall of Fame case will be one of the most fiercely debated topics in recent football memory given the probability he wouldn't receive consideration without the two Super Bowl runs.

Manning has made more than $250 million from his football contracts, the most in NFL history.

Manning was set to become a free agent after losing his job to Daniel Jones.

Giants Expected To Consider Jason Garrett If Unable To Hire Matt Rhule

Jan 7, 2020 8:04 AM

The New York Giants could consider hiring Jason Garrett as head coach, but only if they are unable to secure  a deal with Matt Rhule.

Rhule has been widely seen as New York's preferred coach. Rhule was born and raised in New York City and worked for the Giants in 2012.

Rhule also interviewed with the Carolina Panthers on Monday.

Rhule has said it will take something “next to perfect’’ to get him to leave Baylor.
