Giants 'Guard Snee Signs Six-Year Deal

The Giants have signed guard Chris Snee to a six-year deal, according to The Record. The extension will keep Snee in New York until the 2014 season and makes him among the five highest-paid guards in the NFL, according to a league source.

Strahan: Giants Should Dump Shockey

Michael Strahan is only weeks removed from being a member of the Giants, but he has already started to weigh in on the Super Bowl champions, according to Newsday. Strahan believes that the team should get rid of disgruntled tight end Jeremy Shockey. "He doesn't want to play here; that's obvious with everything that's going on," Strahan told Newsday on Tuesday. "I don't think you gain much by keeping a guy around. Regardless of how well he plays for you, there's always that tension, and that's one thing you can't have if you're expected to go back and repeat."

Giants Sign Woodson, Kehl, Goff

The Giants on Tuesday signed three draft choices, including quarterback Andre Woodson, according to a Yahoo.com report. A sixth-round pick out of Kentucky, Woodson has a good chance to make the team especially since the Giants waived backup quarterback Jared Lorenzen on Monday. Woodson?s 9,360 career passing yards rank second in Kentucky history, second only to Lorenzen. He also finished his career with 79 touchdown passes and just 25 interceptions. New York also signed linebackers Bryan Kehl and Jonathan Goff, its fourth and fifth-round choices, respectively.

New York wide receiver Plaxico Burress reportedly expects a contract resolution before training camp, according to ESPN.com. The Giants will open camp on July 25 at the University of Albany. "Honestly, I think my situation is going to be rectified before training camp," Burress told a Philadelphia radio station. "I'm not going to worry about it, but I did state that I was unhappy with my current situation with my contract. It'll be worked out." He has three years remaining his six-year, $25 million deal. He will earn $3.25 million this year, $3.5 million in 2009 and $3.75 million in 2010.
