Tennessee 47, Detroit 10 Team Trench Counter: Titans +26, Lions -26 The Titans (11-1) rebounded from their first loss of the season against the lowly Lions (0-12) on Thursday afternoon. They dominated on the ground, with Chris Johnson (125 yards and two touchdowns) and LenDale White (106 yards and two touchdowns) running wild all over the Detroit defense. Kerry Collins went 11-for-18 with 127 yards, and Vince Young was 1-for-1 with 54 yards in garbage duty. Tennessee also scored on defense, when Dave Ball returned an interception 15 yards for a score in the second quarter. The Titans' defense recorded three sacks and two fumble recoveries. Daunte Culpepper went 13-for-26 with 134 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Rookie running back Kevin Smith struggled against the Titans' defense with 22 yards on twelve carries. Calvin Johnson was held out of the end zone for the fifth time this season, but caught five passes for 66 yards. Drew Henson, who the Lions signed to a two-year contract last week, went 1-for-2 with 20 passing yards with the game decided well before halftime. Dallas 34, Seattle 9 Team Trench Counter: Cowboys +15, Seahawks -15 The Cowboys (8-4) continued their recent run with a drubbing of the Seahawks (2-10) on Thanksgiving afternoon. Tony Romo went 22-for-34 with 331 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Dallas raced out to a 24-6 lead at the half, even after losing Marion Barber (toe) early on. Barber rushed ten times for 32 yards and a touchdown, while Tashard Choice added 57 yards on eleven carries. Jason Witten, nine receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Terrell Owens, five catches for 98 yards and a score, led the team in receiving. Matt Hasselbeck, even with some of his receivers back in the lineup, struggled once again. He went 22-for-38 with 287 yards and an interception. Julius Jones, who played for the Cowboys last season, rushed eleven times for 37 yards. Tight end John Carlson tallied six receptions for 105 yards, and Deion Branch had five catches for 56 yards in the loss. Dallas sacked Hasselbeck seven times. Philadelphia 48, Arizona 20 Team Trench Counter: Eagles +16.8, Cardinals -16.8 The Eagles (6-5-1) thumped the Cardinals (7-5) on Thursday night to help get both Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb back in the good graces of Philadelphia fans momentarily. McNabb went 27-for-39 with 260 yards and four touchdowns, while Brian Westbrook had 110 rushing yards and scored a franchise-record four scores. DeSean Jackson led the team in receiving, with six catches for 76 yards and a score. Even without Asante Samuel, the Eagles recorded three interceptions. Kurt Warner went 21-for-39 with 235 yards, three touchdowns and the three picks. The Eagles held Arizona's rushing attack in check, limiting Tim Hightower to just 7 yards on seven attempts. Larry Fitzgerald caught two of Warner's touchdowns, grabbing a total of five passes for 65 yards. Steve Breaston was the recipient of the other touchdown, while Anquan Boldin added 63 yards on five catches. N.Y. Giants 23, Washington 7 Team Trench Counter: Giants +10.1, Redskins -10.1 The Giants (11-1) remained red-hot with a dominant victory over the Redskins (7-5). Eli Manning went 21-for-34 with 305 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Brandon Jacobs, returning from a knee injury, ran twenty-one times for 71 yards and a touchdown. Without Plaxico Burress (hamstring, shooting), Amani Toomer (five catches for 85 yards and a score), Derrick Ward (five receptions for 75 yards) and Domenik Hixon (five catches for 71 yards) were Manning's favorite targets. Jason Campbell went 23-for-38 with 232 yards and an interception. Clinton Portis struggled against New York's stifling defense, rushing eleven times for 22 yards. Rookie wide receiver Devin Thomas scored Washington's only touchdown of the game, a 29-yard run in the second quarter that momentarily moved the Redskins within striking distance. Chris Cooley led the team in receiving with six receptions for 71 yards. Tampa Bay 23, New Orleans 20 Team Trench Counter: Buccaneers +6.5, Saints -6.5 Matt Bryant hit a 37-yard field goal in the final minute to give the Buccaneers (9-3) a dramatic win over the Saints (6-6) on Sunday afternoon. Jeff Garcia went 9-for-23 with 119 yards and a touchdown, as a variety of options produced well on the ground. Warrick Dunn ran twenty-two times for 74 yards, Garcia scrambled for 42 yards and Cadillac Williams added 20 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Bryant was the leading receiver, catching three passes for 63 yards and a score. Drew Brees went 25-for-47 with 296 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Tampa Bay limited New Orleans to just 44 rushing yards on eighteen carries. Marques Colston had one of his best games of the season, catching six passes for 106 yards, while Pierre Thomas and Lance Moore were on the receiving end of touchdown passes from Brees. New Orleans sacked Garcia four times, but wasn't able to enough points on the board against Tampa Bay's tough defense. Miami 16, St. Louis 12 Team Trench Counter: Dolphins +3.3, Rams -3.3 The Dolphins (7-5) limited the Rams (2-10) to four field goals in a close win at Edward Jones Stadium. Chad Pennington went 13-for-23 with 166 yards, as Miami dominated on the ground. Ricky Williams rushed twelve times for 54 yards, Ronnie Brown added 48 yards and a touchdown on fifteen attempts, and even Pennington added 15 yards on the ground. Davone Bess caught six passes for 84 yards, as Miami won with strong defense. Marc Bulger went 16-for-35 with 149 yards and three interceptions. Steven Jackson returned from a thigh injury, rushing twenty-one times for 94 yards in the loss. Dane Looker had six receptions for 52 yards to lead the team, while veteran Torry Holt tallied 30 yards on three carries. St. Louis actually took a 6-0 lead on a pair of Josh Brown field goals in the first quarter, but Miami rebounded with ten points in the second to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Carolina 35, Green Bay 31 Team Trench Counter: Panthers +7.8, Packers -7.8 The Panthers (9-3) were victorious over the Packers (5-7) thanks to a 1-yard run by DeAngelo Williams in the final moments. Jake Delhomme managed a great game, going 12-for-17 with 177 yards. Williams ran twenty-one times for 71 yards and an amazing four touchdowns. Delhomme, who rushed twice and gained zero net yards, also ran into the end zone. Steve Smith, the team's leading target, caught four balls for 105 yards. Aaron Rodgers went 29-for-45 with 298 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Green Bay rallied from an early deficit to take a 31-28 lead late in the fourth quarter on a 19-yard field goal by Mason Crosby before Williams scored his fourth touchdown. Brandon Jackson led the team in rushing with 80 yards on eleven carries. Greg Jennings, who went over the 1,000-yard mark, caught eight passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Donald Driver and Donald Lee also reached the end zone in the loss. Indianapolis 10, Cleveland 6 Team Trench Counter: Colts +4.9, Browns -4.9 The Colts (8-4) won a hard-fought game against the Browns (4-8) thanks to a 37-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Robert Mathis in the fourth quarter. Peyton Manning went 15-for-21 with 125 yards and two interceptions. Joseph Addai ran fifteen times for 57 yards and lost a fumble, as Indianapolis was held without an offensive touchdown. Reggie Wayne (four receptions for 46 yards) and Marvin Harrison (three catches for 27 yards) led the team in receiving. Derek Anderson, who left late with a knee injury that has placed his season in jeopardy, went 16-for-26 with 110 yards. Jamal Lewis ran twenty-four yards for 77 yards, while Braylon Edwards (two catches for 36 yards) was the only Cleveland receiver to surpass the 20-yard mark. Ken Dorsey relieved Anderson, going 0-for-3 with an interception on the team's final offensive drive. Baltimore 34, Cincinnati 3 Team Trench Counter: Ravens +21.8, Bengals -21.8 The Ravens (8-4) easily handled the Bengals (1-10-1) thanks a big day from rookie Joe Flacco. He went 19-for-29 with 280 yards and two touchdowns, and receiver Mark Clayton threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Mason in the third quarter. Le'Ron McClain rushed twenty-five times for 86 yards, and Clayton had five receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown. Todd Heap, who caught four passes for 39 yards, also had a scoring reception for Baltimore in the win. Ryan Fitzpatrick went 12-for-31 with 124 yards, and Jordan Palmer (Carson's brother) had an interception on two pass attempts for Cincinnati. Fitzpatrick led the team in rushing, with three attempts for 29 yards. Cedric Benson and Chris Perry combined for 28 yards on thirteen carries. T.J. Houshmandzadeh (four receptions for 65 yards) and Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson (four catches for 45 yards) led the team in receiving. San Francisco 10, Buffalo 3 Team Trench Counter: 49ers -9, Bills +9 The 49ers (4-8) shocked the Bills (6-6) on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium thanks to a strong defensive performance. Shaun Hill went 14-for-23 with 161 yards and a touchdown, a 12-yard pass to Isaac Bruce in the first quarter. Frank Gore added 66 yards on the ground, and Joe Nedney kicked a 50-yard field goal in the second quarter to complete San Francisco's scoring in the victory. The defense was strong, posting three sacks and forcing a pair of fumbles (one was recovered). Trent Edwards, who left with a groin injury, went 10-for-21 with 112 yards. J.P. Losman, who took over for Edwards, was 11-for-17 with 93 yards in the loss. Marshawn Lynch was the lone offensive star for Buffalo, rushing sixteen times for 134 yards. Lee Evans had seven receptions for 80 yards, while Josh Reed added five catches for 58 yards in the tough loss. Atlanta 22, San Diego 16 Team Trench Counter: Falcons +10.8, Chargers -10.8 The Falcons (8-4) were terrific defensively against the struggling, but explosive Chargers (4-8) in San Diego. Matt Ryan went 17-for-23 with 207 yards and two touchdowns, and Michael Turner ran thirty-one times for 120 yards. Roddy White led Atlanta in receiving with 120 yards, but Justin Pelle and Harry Douglas were on the receiving end of Ryan's scoring strikes. The Falcons had three sacks and kept the Chargers in check despite not forcing any turnovers. Philip Rivers went 17-for-30 with 149 yards and rushed four times for 18 yards as well. Jacob Hester led San Diego with a 28-yard rush, while LaDainian Tomlinson ran fourteen times for 24 yards and a touchdown. Malcolm Floyd had five receptions for 59 yards, while Tomlinson added 42 receiving yards to his rushing total. Kansas City 20, Oakland 13 Team Trench Counter: Chiefs +5.2, Raiders -5.2 The Chiefs (2-10) scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to knock off the Raiders (3-9) at McAfee Coliseum. Tyler Thigpen went 15-for-22 with 162 yards and an interception. Larry Johnson continued to break out of his slump, rushing twenty-times for 92 yards and a touchdown. Thigpen added 48 yards on eleven scrambles. Tony Gonzalez led Kansas City with eight receptions for 110 yards. Maurice Leggett scored the team's other touchdown on a 67-yard fumble return in the second quarter. JaMarcus Russell went 10-for-28 with 132 yards as he was inaccurate in the loss. Justin Fargas led the team in rushing with 82 yards and a touchdown on eighteen carries. Russell had 37 yards on two scrambles. Rookie Darren McFadden struggled, posting 13 yards on seven carries. Tight end Zach Miller led Oakland in receiving with 79 yards on five receptions. McFadden boosted his poor rushing statistics with three catches for 50 yards. Pittsburgh 33, New England 10 Team Trench Counter: Steelers +5.9, Patriots -5.9 The Steelers (9-3) scored 30-straight points against the Patriots (7-5) as they dominated in the second half. Ben Roethlisberger went 17-for-33 with 179 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Willie Parker rushed for 87 yards on sixteen carries, and Mewelde Moore added 67 yards on twelve carries in the win. Heath Miller led the team in receiving with 60 yards on four receptions. Pittsburgh sacked Matt Cassel five times and forced five turnovers. Cassel went 19-for-39 with 169 yards and two interceptions, and also lost a pair of fumbles. Kevin Faulk rushed six times for 73 yards, and Sammy Morris added 45 yards and touchdown on eleven attempts in the damaging loss. Faulk led New England in receiving as well, catching seven passes for 48 yards. Randy Moss (45 yards) and Wes Welker (30 yards) both caught four passes. Denver 34, N.Y. Jets 17 Team Trench Counter: Broncos -0.3, Jets +0.3 The Broncos (7-5) kept the Jets (8-4) in check to extend their lead in the horrendous AFC West. Jay Cutler went 27-for-43 with 357 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Fullback Peyton Hillis rushed twenty-two times for 129 yards and a touchdown, helping Denver take an early lead against New York. Tony Scheffler led the team with seven receptions for 90 yards, while Eddie Royals (84 yards) and Brandon Stokley (44 yards) scored touchdowns. Vernon Fox got things started for the Broncos, returning a fumble 23 yards midway through the first quarter to give the team a 7-0 lead. Brett Favre went 23-for-43 with 247 and an interception. Thomas Jones excelled, rushing sixteen times for 138 yards and two interceptions, but untimely turnovers doomed the Jets. Dustin Keller recorded seven receptions for 77 yards, and running back Leon Washington posted 60 yards on three catches. Despite the loss, the Jets still have a one-game lead over the Patriots and Dolphins in the AFC East title race. Minnesota 34, Chicago 14 Team Trench Counter: Vikings +19.1, Bears -19.1 The Vikings (7-5) took the lead in the NFC North with a convincing win over the Bears (6-6) at the Metrodome. Gus Frerotte, who went 16-for-25 with 210 yards, one touchdown and an interception, gave way to both Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor on the ground. Peterson had 131 yards and a score, while Taylor added 46 yards and a score of his own. Frerotte also reached the end zone on a sneak late in the second quarter. Bernard Berrian, who hooked up with Frerotte for a 99-yard touchdown, finished the game with four receptions for 122 yards. Kyle Orton struggled, going 11-for-29 with 153 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. The Minnesota defense also sacked him three times, all by defensive end Jared Allen. Rookie Matt Forte rushed twenty-two times for 96 yards, and caught four passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. Devin Hester caught a 65-yard touchdown pass from Orton in the first quarter that gave the Bears a 7-0 lead, but the Vikings scored 17 in the second to take a lead that would prove to be insurmountable. Houston 30, Jacksonville 17 Team Trench Counter: Texans +7.5, Jaguars -7.5 The Texans (5-7) jumped out to a 13-0 lead on Monday night in their defeat of the Jaguars (4-8). Sage Rosenfels went 14-for-24 with 200 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Rookie running back Steve Slaton starred with 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns on twenty-one carries. Andre Johnson, undoubtedly one of the league's top receiver, caught seven passes for 75 yards and a score. David Garrard went 25-for-35 with 287 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Matt Jones was Garrard's top target, catching eight passes for 104 yards. Reggie Williams, however, had five receptions for 55 yards and a score. Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew had success on the ground, combining for 116 rushing yards and a touchdown. However, turnovers doomed Jacksonville, as both Garrard and Jones-Drew lost fumbles in the defeat. *Explaining The Trench Counter

Giants general manager Jerry Reese said that the team has tried to reach out to embattled receiver Plaxico Burress, but have yet to hear from him since the now-infamous shooting incident Friday night. "I reached out to him," Reese said of Burress at an impromptu news conference at FedEx Field before Sunday's game with the host Washington Redskins. "I did not get a return phone call, so no, we haven't spoken to him yet."

Plaxico Burress' lawyer said Sunday that he has been advised the Giants' receiver will be charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Benjamin Brafman said Burress, "will enter a plea of not guilty." Burress shot himself in the leg accidentally on Friday night when out in New York City.

Giants' linebacker Antonio Pierce was reportedly questioned by authorities regarding Plaxico Burress' accidental shooting on Friday night. Pierce was questioned on Saturday night at the team hotel and is cooperating fully with authorities and NFL security, according to the team. There have been reports that Pierce tried to help Burress keep the incident under wraps.

Plaxico Burress may have ended his tenure with the New York Giants on Friday night when he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a club in New York. Already out for New York's game Sunday at Washington with a hamstring injury, Burress was released from the hospital after treatment for the gunshot on Saturday. It is not yet known whether the receiver was licensed to carry a concealed weapon in the New York City, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and the most stringent penalties. A conviction on a concealed-weapon charge could result in a mandatory prison sentence of 3.5 years.

The Giants will have Brandon Jacobs and Clinton Portis will play for the Redskins on Sunday afternoon when the two teams do battle. Jacobs missed last week's game with an injured knee while Portis has been playing through a knee injury himself.

Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound on Friday night in a club, according to a number of sources. Details weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening. Fox Sports reported that Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg. Burress was already considered out of New York's game against Washington on Sunday with a hamstring injury.

The Giants have ruled receiver Plaxico Burress out for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Burress has been dealing with a hamstring injury lately. He tried to play through the injury last weekend but came out of the game after just one play.

Giants' kicker Lawrence Tynes is reportedly seeking a pardon from the Bush administration for his brother, who is serving a 27-year sentence for dealing drugs. Tynes recently hired a lawyer to handle the effort to have his brother freed, according to a report in the New York Daily News. "The situation that Mark found himself in was partly due to his own mistakes," the lawyer said. "We have to make sure that what we submit is accurate and explains Mark's position and why we believe the sentence is excessive."

The NFC, beginning with the Giants' victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII this past February, has begun to put a dent into the AFC's recent dominance in the NFL. Through Week 12 of the 2008 season, the NFC has a 22-19-1 record against the AFC. Cut out the horrendous NFC West ? which has a 2-7 mark against the AFC ? and that mark jumps to 20-12-1. Prior to New York's shocking win over New England in Glendale, Ari., the AFC had won four-straight Super Bowls. Even with the Giants recent triumph, the American Conference has taken eight of the last eleven titles.
