The New Orleans Saints sent a huge package to the Green Bay Packers to move up to the 14th pick.

The Packers will receive the 27th and 147th pick (fifth round) in this year's draft and a 2019 first-rounder as well.

New Orleans used the pick on Marcus Davenport.

The New Orleans Saints will honor late owner Tom Benson with an empty chair in their war room during this week's NFL Draft.

"We'll be thinking about him for sure," Mickey Loomis said. "I've tried not to think about that. We miss him on a daily basis."

Benson died in March. The Saints won't pick until No. 27 after a 11-5 season.

Sean Payton said the Saints still have a few "must" positions to fill before they head into the 2018 season, and he listed their biggest remaining needs as a "pressure player," a sixth offensive lineman, a linebacker and tight end.

The Baltimore Ravens signed Willie Snead to an offer sheet last week and it will not be matched by the New Orleans Saints.

Snead was tendered at the lowest level so Baltimore does not owe any compensation for signing the wideout.

Snead's contract will be a two-year, $7 million deal with another $3.4 million in incentives.

Snead reported to the Saints' workouts last week without signing his restricted free agent tender.

Gayle Benson sent a statement to all NFL teams on Thursday, stating that she has no plans to sell the New Orleans Saints.

Tom Benson passed away earlier this year.

"As is standard NFL practice, my husband provided a report to the Commissioner summarizing the Ownership Succession Plan of the New Orleans Saints. For clarity, my husband's plan and desire was for me to have full voting control of the Saints and to serve as Controlling Owner of the team per NFL rules. I understood this and want to reassure you that I am fully prepared to assume this role. Moving forward, I too, will provide the Commissioner my very own Ownership Succession Plan of the New Orleans Saints. Please rest assured, I will own and operate this franchise until my death and do so with the same drive and focus towards success that my husband displayed throughout his life," Gayle wrote in the statement.

The Chicago Bears have declined to match the New Orleans Saints' two-year, $10 million offer sheet to Cameron Meredith.

"It was just the right move for the Bears as a whole and as a team. As for me, as a player, we just felt this was the best way to go," Meredith said.

"I think in the grand scheme of things, I don't really know the specific details why they did it, or why they didn't. I can just control what I can control and do going forward."

According to a report, the Bears are concerned about Meredith's health. He is coming off a torn ACL and MCL.

The New Orleans Saints have agreed to sign Cameron Meredith to a two-year, $10 million offer sheet.

The Chicago Bears will have the option of matching Meredith's contract as he's a restricted free agent.

Meredith missed the 2017 season after tearing his left ACL.

Meredith had 66 receptions, 888 yards and four touchdowns in 2016.
