Jets Acquire Chris Ivory

Jun 14, 2014 8:54 PM

The New York Jets acquired Chris Ivory from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a fourth round pick.

The Saints used the extra fourth round pick and their own pick to move up to the 82nd overall pick in a deal with the Miami Dolphins to select defensive tackle John Jenkins out of Georgia.

The Saints and Jets had been discussing an Ivory trade for more than a week.

Shonn Greene signed with the Tennessee Titans in the offseason, leaving a void at running back for the Jets.

Chris Ivory Signs With Saints, May Still End Up With Jets

Oct 31, 2014 3:41 PM

Chris Ivory has signed his one-year, $2.023 million tender with the New Orleans Saints.

The New York Jets have made an offer for Ivory. The Jets never considered signing Ivory as a restricted free agent, as it would have involved sending a second round pick to the Saints. But Rich Comini of ESPN reports that a deal for a lower pick is "likely to happen."

The Jets are thin at running back following the departure of Shonn Greene.

Jets Interested In Chris Ivory

Oct 31, 2014 2:13 PM

The New York Jets are interested in trading for New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory, according to league sources.

Ivory was the odd-man out in New Orleans' crowded backfield last season, but still received a second-round tender, which would be a one-year, $2.023 million contract.

The Jets have no intention of surrendering their second-round pick for a player who rushed for only 217 yards last season, but they're willing to part with a late-round pick.

Source: Nnamdi Asomugha Joins 49ers

Oct 31, 2014 6:04 AM

The 49ers and veteran cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $3M, according to a league source.

The deal does not feature any guaranteed money, a provision Asomugha himself sought, according to the source.

The source said Asomugha chose the 49ers over the Saints because he wants a chance to win a Super Bowl and was looking to return to Northern California.
