T.J. Hockenson and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a four-year, $68.5 million contract extension.

The $17.125 million annual average and $42 .5 million guarantee are the highest for a tight end in NFL history.

The Vikings acquired Hockenson from the Detroit Lions at last season's trade deadline. After joining the Vikings, Hockenson caught 60 balls for 519 yards and three touchdowns.

The Minnesota Vikings are signing Myles Gaskin to their active roster.

Gaskin was released by the Miami Dolphins.

The move reunites Gaskin with his former head coach Brian Flores, who is now the Vikings' defensive coordinator.

Over four seasons in Miami, Gaskin appeared in 38 games, carrying the ball 361 times for 1,355 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hockenson is looking to reset the market for tight ends by signing a historic extension, according to a report.

The two sides have been working on an extension but are currently far apart.

Hockenson has missed time during training camp with lower back stiffness and an ear infection. Kevin O'Connell doesn't believe the issues are related to his contract situation.

"He has not indicated to me one time that it is about that," O'Connell said. "And look, we would love to have him in every drill. ... But we've got to have a process where we get these guys healthy feeling really good to go compete as we head toward the season.

"But I'll say this: T.J. has been phenomenal in the meeting room, really leading that tight end room, and the side work he's done. The individual work, the work staying in shape, his lifts and conditioning. I don't have any reservations about him being ready to roll for [the regular season]."

Collectively, the NFL’s 32 teams are worth $165 billion, including team-related business and real estate held by owners.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL and across all sports leagues globally at $9.2 billion. The Cowboys had an operating profit of $460 million in 2022.

The New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams rank second and third at $7.04 billion and $6.98 billion respectively. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers round out the top-5.

Minnesota Vikings owner Mark Wilf was noncommittal when asked about Kirk Cousins' future with the team beyond this season.

Wilf was asked if he wanted to re-sign Cousins after 2023.

"We'll leave that to [G.M.] Kwesi [Adofo-Mensah] and coach [Kevin O'Connell] to work through those discussions," Wilf said. "There's always conversations on that. But our real focus is 100 percent on 2023 and getting where we need to be, and where I know we can be."

The Minnesota Vikings have signed N'Keal Harry.

Harry, 25, played for three seasons with the New England Patriots after they made him a first-round draft pick in 2019.
