Patrick Mahomes: Chiefs Never Stop Adding Plays To Offense

May 24, 2019 4:52 PM

Patrick Mahomes says the Kansas City Chiefs have already made significant additions to their playbook this offseason.

"We've added a lot. We never stop adding plays here. That's the best thing about this team, this offense: We're never satisfied with where we're at. We're always trying to get better, finding ways to get better as a team, as an offense," Mahomes said.

He was named the NFL's MVP in his first season as Kansas City's starter.

"There's still a ton that I need to improve on. There really is. I made a lot of plays happen kind of off-script, but there were times I should have just made the easy completion for the first down. So I have to keep finding that line of when I want to make the big play happen and when I should take the easy completion," Mahomes said.

The NFL has awarded the 2021 draft to Cleveland and the 2023 draft to Kansas City following an owner's meeting in Key Biscayne, Florida.

The 2020 draft was previously awarded to Las Vegas.

The league was not ready to move on bids for the 2022 draft, saying about 20 cities are interested in hosting that year.

The league said last month that more than 600,000 people attended the draft over the three days in Nashville, eclipsing the 250,000 who attended in Philadelphia.

Tyreek Hill's Attorney Issues Letter Denying Child Abuse Allegations

May 3, 2019 9:04 AM

Tyreek Hill's attorney issued a detailed letter denying child abuse allegations. The letter also alleges that Hill's fiancee, Crystal Espinal, abused their three-year-old son.

In the recording, Espinal says, "He kept saying, 'Daddy punches me,' which you do when he starts crying. What do you do? You make him open up his arms, and you punch him in the chest."

Attorney N. Trey Pettlon addresses that accusation, writing there have been times when Hill has tapped his son on the chest and told him to "man up, buddy" or "don't cry, my man" while denying grabbing his son's arms as part of physical discipline.

"He [Hill] categorically denies he has ever 'punched' his son in the chest or anywhere on his body, or otherwise touched him in the chest in a mean-spirited manner or as a form of discipline," Pettlon wrote.

Hill is willing to meet with NFL investigators, Pettlon said, and will cooperate with the investigation "to the extent that he can under the law."
