The Kansas City Chiefs will wear their red home jerseys in Super Bowl LVIII as the designated home team against the San Francisco 49ers.

When the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year, they wore their white jerseys as the designated road team. The Chiefs wore their home jerseys in 2021 when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay elected to wear their white jerseys despite being the designated home team.

The 49ers will wear white as they did when they previously met the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2020. San Francisco has a 2-1 record in Super Bowls wearing their white jersey.

Andy Reid says the Kansas City Chiefs did not file erroneous injury reports regarding Kadarius Toney as the wide receiver claimed in a profanity-filled Instagram Live post.

"He's been on the injury report, [so] that part is not made up by any means," Reid said.

In his post, Toney said he doesn't have the hip and ankle injuries the Chiefs have recently listed for him on their weekly injury reports.

Toney hasn't played since a Week 15 game against the New England Patriots in which he deflected a pass to a defender for an interception for the second time this season.

The Chiefs said before Sunday's AFC Championship Game that Toney wouldn't play because of injuries and personal reasons. 

Toney's partner gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter, on Saturday.

Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Charles Omenihu tore an ACL in Sunday's AFC Championship Game and won't be available to play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers, according to reports.

Omenihu had a career-high seven sacks this season despite missing the first six games due to suspension.

He had a strip sack of Lamar Jackson on Sunday before leaving with the injury.

Omenihu, 26, joined the Chiefs as a free agent after four NFL seasons split between the Houston Texans and 49ers. 

Travis Kelce had 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Kansas City Chiefs' 17-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

With the effort, Kelce passed Jerry Rice for the most catches in NFL playoff history.

Kelce also scored his sixth touchdown in AFC Championship Games, surpassing John Stallworth for the most ever.

The San Francisco 49ers have been installed as small Super Bowl favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs, but the point spread dropped quickly Sunday at sportsbooks around the nation.

The 49ers opened as 2.5-point favorites at ESPN BET, but the lined dipped to -1.5 within 20 minutes of being posted and was as low as -1 at some sportsbooks Sunday night.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was so infuriated by throwing an interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter that he ripped off his helmet with both hands and slammed it to the ground while walking to the sideline.

Jackson and the AFC's top-seeded Ravens struggled to move the ball and committed three turnovers in a 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. The loss drops Jackson to 2-4 in the postseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who for most of this regular season looked more vulnerable than at any time since Patrick Mahomes became their starting quarterback in 2018, are going back to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs scored a touchdown on each of their first two possessions and then held on to beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10, sending Kansas City to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in the past five years.

Patrick Mahomes hasn't been this big of an underdog in a long time.

The line on the AFC Championship Game moved toward the favored Baltimore Ravens in recent days and was sitting as high as -4.5 on Sunday morning, up a point from the consensus opening spread.

Mahomes is poised to be an underdog for only the 12th time in his career.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco will play against the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's AFC Championship Game despite a questionable tag for an ankle injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Conference Championship Sunday for the 2023 NFL season will take place on January 28th in Baltimore and Santa Clara.
