Chiefs Clinch No. 1 Seed As Travis Kelce Sets TE Record

Dec 28, 2020 8:51 AM

The Kansas City Chiefs edged the Atlanta Falcons 17-14 on Sunday to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.

The 14-1 Chiefs, who have won 10 straight games, will receive the AFC's only first-round playoff bye and will play their divisional-round game at Arrowhead.

In the victory, Travis Kelce became the first tight end to have two 100-catch seasons. Kelce caught seven passes, giving him 105.

Kelce also set the single-season yardage record for a tight end. He had 98 yards, giving him 1,467. The San Francisco 49ers' George Kittle held the previous record with 1,377 yards, set in 2018.

"To get a week of preparation, a week of really locking in and getting the body right that late in the season is so key, and it's much needed if you want to make that playoff push,'' Kelce said. "That's what you work your tail off for all season. I'm just proud to be a part of this team and be able to do it again this year.''

Tyreek Hill's First Impression Of Patrick Mahomes: 'He's Trash'

Dec 2, 2020 8:42 AM

Patrick Mahomes has emerged as the best quarterback in the NFL, but not all of his teammates initially believed in the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

Tyreek Hill wasn't so sure when he first met his Kansas City Chiefs teammate.

"I thought he was trash," Hill said, "I ain't gonna cap. I ain't gonna cap. I ain't even gonna cap, man. When he first got there I was like, this is who y'all drafted right here? This is who y'all drafted? Hey but look, he proved me into a whole complete, I don't know. That second year, like his quarterback mechanics were different. It was like he was spending more time with his quarterback coach, spending more time with Coach [Andy] Reid, like learning the offense. Dude was like different."

Travis Kelce Hopes For Another Chance To Throw A Pass

Dec 2, 2020 8:35 AM

Travis Kelce ranks third in the NFL in receiving yards, but the tight end is hoping for another chance to throw a pass for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kelce attempted a pass last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that was knocked down at the 1-yard-line.

During an interview, Kelce said he was "sorry to everybody for the pass that was like an awkward pass" and said that he hopes for a chance of redemption.

"I've still got my fingers crossed that I'll get one more opportunity, but I think it might be out the window at this point."

Kelce has thrown three passes in his career.
