Andrew Luck Will Play If Healthy Regardless Of Colts' Record

Sep 28, 2017 11:44 AM

Andrew Luck will return to the field this season if he's healthy, regardless of whether the Indianapolis Colts are out of the playoff picture.

The Colts are 1-2 this season and have appeared to be one of the NFL's worst teams.

Luck could return as soon as Week 6.

"Number 12, he's our man," running back Frank Gore said earlier this week. "He really makes this ship go. With him, it'll be even greater. He loves the game. That's one guy that I think loves football more than me. He loves football and I respect him. My three years here, that's a football player. Tough, smart, true football player."

T.Y. Hilton On Colts Falling To 0-3: 'It Can't Happen'

Sep 21, 2017 9:00 AM

T.Y. Hilton is confident the Indianapolis Colts will find the win column against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

"Can't go down 0-3. I don't think we've been down 0-3 since I've been here. So, it can't happen, it won't happen," Hilton said.

The Colts haven't been 0-3 since 2011, when they finished 2-14 and earned the No. 1 pick that was used on Andrew Luck. Indianapolis is 0-2 for the fourth straight year.

"We all understand the magnitude of it and the urgency," Chuck Pagano said. "They need a win, and we need a win. We'll go back to work on Wednesday and prepare just like we did, but just try to do it better and clean up the things we need to clean up. It's a big week."

Colts To Start Jacoby Brissett At QB In Week 2

Sep 15, 2017 1:56 PM

The Indianapolis Colts will start Jacoby Brissett in Week 2 at quarterback over Scott Tolzien.

The Colts are without Andrew Luck, who is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Brissett was traded by the New England Patriots to the Colts on Sept. 2nd.

"You have to make some adjustments," offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski said this week of Brissett. "He's been here a week, so getting to know him is as important as him getting to know the playbook. That's a process that happens over time. ...

"I've been impressed in the short amount of time that he's been here. It would be a very challenging situation. But he's the type of guy -- smart, very poised and I like some of the things I've seen on the field just from his physical tools as well."

Agent: Andrew Luck Remains Committed To Colts

Sep 13, 2017 8:49 PM

The agent for Andrew Luck denied a report from ESPN's Mike Greenberg that there have been rumblings of a gap between he and the Indianapolis Colts that could eventually end his time with the franchise.

"Quite simply and succinctly, there's no truth to that comment at all," Will Wilson, Luck's agent, told WTHR-TV's Bob Kravitz. "Andrew did a long-term deal and he did it for a reason: He wants to be with the Colts and he's committed to the Colts. It's as simple as that. He looks forward to the opportunity to play when he's ready. He wants to get out there when he's ready, obviously. He's just going through rehab; it's the process he's going through."

Luck signed a six-year, $140 million contract with the Colts in 2016.

In an appearance on The Dan Dakich Show on Wednesday afternoon, Greenberg clarified his earlier comments.

"We can speculate, and that's what I did on the air this morning, and I realize I said it more definitively than I should have, in retrospect," Greenberg said. "When I realize now how many people are taking what I said as though I was reporting 'Andrew Luck wants to be traded,' I felt that it's very important that I clear that up. That if that's the way that came out, that's not in any way the way I intended it.

"What I intended to say was that I'm hearing people talking about Luck being unhappy with the direction of the franchise and speculating that it could get so bad that it might take that next step. And the agent categorically denied it. Those are the facts."

Luck is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Luck missed all of training camp and the entire preseason.

"It's Tolzien's job [for now], because Brissett has to get up to speed," said Chris Ballard.

Patriots Trade Jacoby Brissett To Colts For Phillip Dorsett

Sep 3, 2017 12:20 PM

The New England Patriots have traded third string quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts for Phillip Dorsett.

Andrew Luck's status for Week 1 is uncertain as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. Scott Tolzien will start if Luck is unable to play.

Dorsett was a 2015 first-round draft choice of the Colts (29th overall). He has played in 26 regular-season games (seven starts), totaling 51 catches for 753 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Brissett started and played all 66 snaps in the team's preseason finale against the Giants, going 28-of-39 for 341 yards, with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also rushed for a touchdown.

Andrew Luck Unlikely, Not Ruled Out For Week 1

Sep 1, 2017 9:11 AM

Andrew Luck is unlikely to play, but hasn't been ruled out for Week 1 of the regular season, according to the Indianapolis Colts.

Jim Irsay says the plan is for Luck to be taken off the physically unable to perform list in the coming days.

"I would say, again, the odds are most likely he probably won't open up against the Rams," Irsay said. "But let me be clear about it: In our own minds, it's something we haven't ruled out. We're going to see where he's at. It would be awesome. We're not talking Willis Reed here or something like [that]."

Luck, who had right shoulder surgery in January, has not thrown a pass in a game or practice since Week 17 of last season.
