Mar 19, 2021 10:49 PM

Philip Lindsay has agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Houston Texans.

The Texans' running game of David Johnson and backup Duke Johnson struggled in 2020 and ranked last in the NFL in Football Outsiders' DVOA. Duke Johnson was released earlier in the offseason.

Lindsay rushed for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns in his rookie season. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl.

He followed that up with another 1,000-yard season in 2019, rushing for 1,011 yards and seven touchdowns.

DA Declines To Charge Von Miller After Investigation

Mar 8, 2021 8:47 AM

Von Miller will not face criminal charges after an investigation by the Parker (Colorado) Police Department earlier this year.

The district attorney's office said the case did not meet the standards of probable cause of admissible evidence "to support a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt, and that the decision to charge is in the interests of justice.''

The office said it would not comment further on an investigation "in which there was never a citation, arrest or filing."

Neither the police nor the district attorney have said what the investigation was for or what charges Miller could have faced.

GM: Broncos Want Von Miller Back In 2021

Mar 5, 2021 8:24 AM

Denver Broncos general manager George Paton says the team wants Von Miller back for 2021 but is waiting to hear more on potential legal issues the linebacker might have.

"We're still working through it with Von, his agent, and in regards to the legal process, we're just going to let the legal process play out," Paton said. "But obviously it's a serious situation, but we want to let it play out before we comment on that."

Miller has an option clause in his contract that if the Broncos pick up would guarantee $7 million of Miller's $17.5 million base salary and engage the final year of a six-year, $114.5 million deal he signed in 2016.

The Broncos are still waiting on a decision from the district attorney in the 18th Judicial District in suburban Denver to determine whether Miller will be charged in the wake of an investigation by the Parker, Colorado, police department.

Miller missed all of the 2020 season after an ankle injury just days before the season opener.
