Amari Cooper wants to do something no NFL player has ever done.

Cooper has a goal of 2,000 receiving yards in his first full season with the Dallas Cowboys.

The receiver's previous best came in 2016 when he had 1,153 yards with the Oakland Raiders.

In nine games with the Cowboys last season, Cooper had 725 yards.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Rico Gathers has been suspended one game by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

If Gathers makes the 53-man roster, he will miss the Sept. 8 opener vs. the New York Giants.

Gathers was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana by Frisco, Texas, police before the start of last season.

The agent for Dak Prescott, Todd France, has reportedly asked the Dallas Cowboys for a massive contract extension.

France has "broached" a deal in the range of $34 million annually, according to a report.

Prescott is scheduled to make $2.025 million in 2019 under his fourth-round rookie deal. A deal with a $34 million annual average would mean a new five-year, $138 million contract for the quarterback.
