Cowboys Don't Expect NFL To Discipline Ezekiel Elliott

May 24, 2019 8:31 AM

Jerry Jones doesn't believe the NFL will take any action against Ezekiel Elliott for his role in an incident involving security guards at a Las Vegas music festival last weekend.

"I think that the main thing is that I don't see anything that needs supporting," the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager said. "In terms of his status with us, [it] has not been impacted in any way. And frankly, I know how conscientious he has been in the offseason, and that's good enough. No, I don't see that having any consequences for us."

Elliott was seen on cellphone video released by TMZ confronting a member of event security and using his body to push the man backward until he fell after hitting a gate. He was detained briefly early Sunday during the Electric Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He was handcuffed by police when he was detained but not arrested.

Dak Prescott Submits Counteroffer To Cowboys

May 23, 2019 11:36 AM

Negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott are going well, according to Jerry Jones.

"I'd generally say going well," Jones said. "These things never have a definitive answer. Because you never know if you've done it until you've done it."

Prescott is entering the final season of his rookie contract and is reportedly targeting a extension worth at least $30 million per year.

The quarterback recently said that he and his team have submitted a counteroffer to the Cowboys.

"I can't really say on that. It's one from each side," Prescott said of how close the two sides were on compensation. "So yeah, it's my first time doing this. Ask me in a few years and I'll know I'll be able to tell you we sent this one, they sent this one, we're about to get it done. But right now, I'm learning the process too and letting my team handle their business."

Dak Prescott Wants 'To Be A Cowboy Forever'

May 17, 2019 10:45 AM

Dak Prescott could sign a multiyear deal with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason and the quarterback has made his intentions known.

"I mean, I want to be a Cowboy forever," Prescott said. "I think the people that are doing the deal feel the same way, so to me, it's no rush. I know it will get done."

Prescott is set to make $2.02 million in the final year of his four-year rookie contract. The Cowboys selected him with a fourth-round pick in 2016.

Cowboys Moving Closer To New Deal With Dak Prescott

May 8, 2019 11:29 PM

The Dallas Cowboys are closer to a new contract with Dak Prescott than Amari Cooper at this point in time.

A deal with Prescott would make the quarterback the highest-paid player in Cowboys history, according to a report.

Jerry Jones said the team is sold on Prescott and that the quarterback's style of play "emboldens me to make a deal with him that puts him here for the long term."

If talks with Cooper don't improve, Dallas could use the franchise tag on the receiver following the 2019 season.

Cowboys Have No Timetable For Ezekiel Elliott Extension

May 6, 2019 10:05 AM

The Dallas Cowboys don't appear to be in a hurry to extend Ezekiel Elliott's contract.

They picked up the running back's fifth-year rookie option earlier this offseason.

Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott may be in line for new deals as well.

"Well, I think those are all a work in progress," Stephen Jones said. "Certainly we've got a couple years there with Zeke to get that done. We certainly want to get him done. He's the straw, if you will, that stirs our drink. He's a key part of what we're about. Those things take time to get done. They don't happen overnight. Certainly he's a priority in terms of ultimately getting him signed. There hasn't really been a timetable put on this."

Elliott has led the NFL in rushing two of the least three seasons.
