The Cleveland Browns lost one receiver for the year but are getting another back in time for the start of the season.

Coach Kevin Stefanski on Sunday confirmed that Jakeem Grant ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee and will be out for the season for a second consecutive year. Grant was carted off the field in Saturday's preseason game in Kansas City after the opening kickoff.

In a depth-based trade, the New England Patriots acquired offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for running back Pierre Strong Jr. on Sunday.

Wheatley, the son of former Michigan standout and NFL running back Tyrone Wheatley, potentially helps address arguably the Patriots' greatest need. Injuries and inconsistency on the offensive line have been a top storyline in training camp and the preseason, and Wheatley gives them a developmental prospect with size (6-foot-6, 320 pounds) and strength.

The Arizona Cardinals have acquired quarterback Joshua Dobbs and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick in 2024, according to a report.

Dobbs spent time with the Browns last season, during which he became familiar with Arizona offensive coordinator Drew Petzing as Petzing was on Cleveland's staff last year. 

The Cardinals opened Thursday with fifth-round pick Clayton Tune, David Blough, and Jeff Driskel behind Colt McCoy on the roster at quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns have restructured the contract of Myles Garrett, according to a report.

Cleveland created $12.868 million in 2023 cap space by reworking the deal.

Garrett was due to make a $17.250 million base salary and count $29.176 million against the salary cap.

The average NFL franchise has increased in value by 24 percent over the past 12 months reaching $5.14 billion.

Collectively, the NFL’s 32 teams are worth $165 billion, including team-related business and real estate held by owners.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL and across all sports leagues globally at $9.2 billion. The Cowboys had an operating profit of $460 million in 2022.

The New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams rank second and third at $7.04 billion and $6.98 billion respectively. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers round out the top-5.

Johnny Manziel struggled in the NFL and a new documentary has shed some light on why that might have been.

Manziel's former agent, Erik Burkhardt, explains that he was hearing from general managers that Manziel "doesn't watch tape."

"Well, he's gotta watch some tape," Burkhardt replied. The response: "His iPad hours is zero point zero, zero."

The documentary then cuts to Manziel, who admits it himself. "Zero."
