Free-agent linebacker Rosevelt Colvin could be in the future for the Browns as the team monitors his status, according to The Canton Repository.
"We're always looking for good football players," Head Coach Romeo Crennel said. "I know Rosevelt personally. He's a good pro. He's a good player."
Colvin played for Crennel in New England where the pair won two Super Bowls.
"Our priority right now has to be corner, and we'll see what happens after that," Crennel said.
However, General Manager Phil Savage claims that the team doesn't have much cash to spend on free agents.

Browns' TE Shea Retires
Aaron Shea officially announced his retirement from the Browns on Friday, as reported by Yahoo.com.
The tight end Shea was selected 110th overall in 2000, caught 97 passes for 851 yards and seven touchdowns in 65 games for Cleveland from 2000-2005.
Browns Sign CB Cousin To Two-Year Deal
Cleveland signed free-agent cornerback Terry Cousin to a two-year deal on Friday, according to The Akron Beacon Journal.
He played for the Jaguars last season, in all sixteen games.
The Browns were looking to add someone to their secondary, but others options like Lito Sheppard and Ty Law appeared to be too expensive.
Browns Seeking Help In The Secondary
Browns general manager Phil Savage is reportedly seeking help for the team's thin secondary, according to The Plain Dealer.
Savage as all but ruled out signing 14-year veteran Ty Law and Philadelphia's Lito Sheppard, who has been offered in numerous trades and it seeking a new contract.
He inquired about both, but the price appeared to be too high for the organization.
"We've got the cap space," Savage said. "The issue for the 'big-name player' would be the actual cash out the door, budget-wise. We're pretty much pressed up against our budget internally, so that's going to eliminate certain players, unless they have a change of heart. You don't really expect that at this point. It's only May 20. Maybe that changes by the time we get to training camp."
Keenan Appointed As Browns Team President
Mike Keenan was officially named the team president of the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, according to The Associated Press.
Keenan fills the void left behind by John Collins, who resigned from the post two years ago.
"Mike is deserving of this appointment," General Manager Phil Savage said in a release. "He has worked extremely hard in strengthening the Browns' business operations and has been a valuable resource in dealing with the league office."
He was a member of the NFL's Management Council before joining the team and will now be in control of the club's non-football operations and act as a league liaison for owner Randy Lerner.
"We have an excellent working relationship and both of us, along with [coach] Romeo [Crennel], are committed to helping this organization reach its full potential and win as many games as possible in the future," Savage added.
Browns OL Tucker To Miss Two Months
Cleveland offensive lineman Ryan Tucker will miss two months of action because of a broken hip, according to The Associated Press.
Tucker broke his hip during practice this week amd had successful surgery to repair the fracture on Friday night.
He will likely miss all training camp but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2008 regular season.
The Browns begin their season on September 7 against the Cowboys at home.
Browns Add DB Perry To Secondary
The Cleveland Browns added defensive back Jereme Perry to their secondary on Thursday with a one-year contract, according to The Associated Press.
Perry played 12 games for the Browns in 2006.

Winslow has made it clear he wants the Browns to redo his contract.
McGinest Says 2008 Will Be His Last Season
Linebacker Willie McGinest has announced that 2008 will be his final season in the NFL, according to The Chronicle-Telegram.
McGinest, who currently plays for the Browns but made his name as a member of the Patriots, told SI.com that he'll play out his contract and retire at the end of the season.
"This will be it," he told SI.com. "This will be my 15th season. I?ve worked hard; I think I?ve done everything I set out to accomplish."
He was the fourth overall pick by New England out of USC in the 1994 NFL Draft.
