Joe Burrow Confirms He'll Play For Bengals If Drafted

Feb 25, 2020 11:36 AM

Joe Burrow confirmed he plans to play for the Cincinnati Bengals if they select him first overall in April's draft.

"I'm not going to not play," Burrow told a throng of reporters at the NFL combine on Tuesday morning inside the Indiana Convention Center. "I'm a ballplayer. Whoever takes me, I'm going to go show up."

Burrow's previous comments have been noncommittal. Burrow said the hesitancy was because he didn't want to be presumptuous about what the Bengals were doing with the top pick.

"That's why I've been noncommittal, because I don't know what's going to happen," Burrow said. "They might not pick me. They might fall in love with someone else.

"You guys kind of took that narrative and ran with it, but there's never been anything like that from my end."

Of the 35 quarterbacks drafted in the first round since 2008, the average hand size has been 9 7/10 inches.

Joe Burrow Feels He Has 'Leverage' Entering Draft

Feb 18, 2020 9:16 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals have the first overall pick and are in need of a quarterback, but Joe Burrow says he has leverage entering the NFL Draft.

"I do have leverage," Burrow said. "[The Bengals] have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the [NFL] combine yet. There's a lot of things that happen leading up to the draft and a lot of information gathered."

With the scouting combine in Indianapolis next week, questions about Burrow's willingness to play for the Bengals has come into question.
