Joe Burrow Resists Comparisons To Tom Brady

Dec 15, 2022 8:24 AM

Ahead of facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Joe Burrow is resisting comparisons to Tom Brady.

"I don't really pay attention to it," the Cincinnati Bengals said. "He's Tom, and I'm Joe."

The two players will be facing each other for the first time at Raymond James Stadium.

While Burrow might resist the comparison, the 26-year-old Burrow had plenty of admiration for Brady.

"He gets the ball out really fast," Burrow said. "He understands what he's looking at. I think he epitomizes toughness at the quarterback position. And he's a great leader. I mean, he's the greatest of all time for a reason. He's the total package."

Ja'Marr Chase Wants To See Joe Burrow In MVP Conversation

Dec 5, 2022 8:44 AM

After Sunday's 27-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals had high praise for Joe Burrow.

Burrow is the first quarterback to beat Patrick Mahomes in three straight games.

Ja'Marr Chase wants to see Burrow in the NFL MVP conversation.

"He's one of the best quarterbacks in this league," Chase said. "Everybody knows that. He should be in the MVP race. If he's not in it, he should be. Number one quarterback in the race."

Burrow shrugged off the MVP discussion.

"I don't play the game for those kinds of accolades," Burrow said. "I play the game for those guys in the locker room. What it takes from me every Sunday, that's what I'll do. If I have to hand the ball off 72 times and come out with a win, I'll be happy."
