Joe Mixon is pretty high on the Cincinnati Bengals entering the 2022 season.

"To be honest, I feel like we might be the hottest thing smokin' in the NFL on Sundays," Mixon said.

"With the talent we got and who we added onto this year, I feel like we're bound to have a hell of a season. The best thing about it is we've been there before, and we know how to get there. We've just gotta stick to the basics, one week at a time, and that's what's gonna happen."

Cincinnati lost 23-20 to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI, but they upgraded a number of their weaknesses this offseason.

Joe Burrow will be eligible for a new contract once the 2022 season ends.

This week, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2020 draft was asked how much he's thought about his second professional contract.

"I mean the market is just exploding. It's crazy the number that these guys are putting up and I think it’s well deserved," Burrow said. "All those guys are playing at the top of their game. They're being paid accordingly. But I'm not worried about [it]. I like to make jokes about it, but really, I haven't thought about it much right now."

Ryan Fitzpatrick, the enigmatic quarterback out of Harvard who brought his "FitzMagic" to the NFL for nine teams spanning 17 seasons, announced his retirement Thursday, a source confirmed to ESPN.

He made the announcement in a text to his former teammates. NFL Network was first to report that Fitzpatrick was retiring.
