Bears To Release Mike Glennon

Feb 28, 2018 4:26 PM

The Chicago Bears will release Mike Glennon when the NFL year begins on March 14th.

The moves will be the latest in an offseason purge of veterans by the Bears, who have already released linebackers Jerrell Freeman, Pernell McPhee and safety Quintin Demps.

Glennon was scheduled to make $12.5 million as the backup to Mitchell Trubisky in 2018. The Bears are already on the hook for Glennon's fully guaranteed $2.5 million roster bonus, putting the total price tag for Glennon's one-year stint in Chicago at $18.5 million.

Tarik Cohen Wants Bears To Use Him Like Tyreek Hill

Feb 26, 2018 9:27 AM

As he enters his second NFL season, Tarik Cohen wants to see the Chicago Bears use him like the Kansas City Chiefs use Tyreek Hill.

The Bears hired Matt Nagy away from the Chiefs to be their new head coach this offseason.

"When I was at the combine, coaches would always ask me who I would compare myself to in the league," Cohen said, "and I would always tell them Tyreek Hill. I feel that I can do the same kinds of things he does in the Kansas City offense.

"And now since we have their coach now [in Nagy], I feel like I have to live up to that. And I definitely look forward to being the same kind of playmaker."

Both Cohen and Hill are undersized speedsters with dual- or even triple-threat capabilities on offense and special prowess in the return game.

Bears-Ravens To Face Off In Hall Of Fame Game

Feb 14, 2018 8:13 AM

The Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens will face off in the NFL's annual Hall of Fame Game on August 2 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

The Ravens will make their first-ever appearance in the game, which makes sense with Ray Lewis set to be enshrined into Canton. Former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher will also be enshrined.

This year marks the second-ever Thursday night kickoff for the Hall of Fame Game.

Alshon Jeffery: I Told Y'all We'd Win

Feb 5, 2018 8:20 AM

Alshon Jeffery made two different guarantees related to Super Bowl LII and somehow came through on both.

Jeffery guaranteed a Super Bowl win after the 2016 season when he was still a member of the Chicago Bears. After he joined the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, he clarified that he never specified which team he meant.

In the days leading up to Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots, Jeffery said the Eagles would be bringing the trophy back to Philadelphia.

"Man, I told y'all," Jeffery said after Philly's win. "Hey, we don't care who we were playing. Facing this opponent, I knew Tom Brady — I respect him, a great player, probably one of the greatest ever, but hey, he had not played the Eagles yet He [had not played] the Eagles, not the 2017-18 Eagles."

Jeffery caught three passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.
