Chicago, Detroit and New Orleans are the teams most heavily interested in San Diego running back Michael Turner, according to the Union-Tribune.
Turner could be a free agent until after the draft because of the large crop of running backs who will be available.
Turner is an unrestricted free agent.

Bears, TE Clark Agree To Contract Extension
The Bears and tight end Desmond Clark agreed Sunday to a two-year contract extension through the 2010 season, as reported by ESPN.com.
Over the past two years, Clark has averaged 13.2 yards per catch, most among tight ends.
Bears Re-Sign Grossman
Rex Grossman signed a one-year contract Saturday with the Bears and will compete for the starting QB job, according to an Associated Press report.
Grossman started the Super Bowl for the Bears after an up-and-down season in 2006. He struggled again last year and was benched following the third game. He returned for five more games before injuring his left knee in early December.
Bears GM: Urlacher Should Return '100 Percent'
Bears' GM Jerry Angelo said on Tuesday that he expects Brian Urlacher, who had offseason neck surgery, to return to full strength by the start of next season, according to ESPN.com.
"We feel good about the prognosis and what the doctors have told us about Brian's surgery and that he's going to be 100 percent healthy," Angelo said on the team's site. "He continues to go through the rehab process, which is going well. It's a concern anytime a player has surgery. But we feel good that he's going to be back and going. Nobody's said anything to the contrary, and we'll just go from there."
Bears Release Muhammad, Sign Brown
The Chicago Bears have released wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad and reached an agreement on a two-year extension with defensive end Alex Brown, according to ESPN.com.
Muhammad started all but one game for the Bears during his three years with the team.
Brown expressed his displeasure with the team this season, which led many to be surprised by the news of his extension.
Report: Bears' Urlacher Has Neck Surgery
Bears' linebacker Brian Urlacher has undergone neck surgery, according to a published report Friday.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Urlacher had an operation to correct a problem that was discovered during a routine postseason physical.
A source told the Tribune the surgery is related to the cervical curve of the spine.
