Bills To Extend Toronto Series Five More Seasons

Aug 21, 2014 10:39 PM

The Buffalo Bills and Toronto are nearing agreement on a deal to extend their series of regular season games at the Rogers Centre.

"We'll be having an announcement on that," Rogers Communications vice chairman Phil Lind said Friday. Without providing a timeline, Lind said "It'll be soon."

The extension is expected to last five years, with one annual game in Toronto.

Rogers paid the Bills $78 million for the eight-game series in 2008, but that price is expected to drop.

Toronto is located 100 miles from Buffalo.

Fred Jackson Ahead Of Schedule On Injury

Fred Jackson returned to the practice field on Thursday as he recovers from a sprained LCL.

“Yeah he is,” said Chan Gailey about how Jackson is ahead of schedule. ”He must be a fast healer.”

C.J. Spiller has been excellent filling in for Jackson, which may cause the Bills to bring him back slowly.

Jackson has targeted Week 5 for his return.

Spiller Unconcerned About Role When Jackson Returns

Oct 31, 2014 7:23 PM

C.J. Spiller is the NFL's leading rusher with 292 yards and three touchdowns after Week 2.

Spiller has become the featured running back of the Buffalo Bills with Fred Jackson out.

Spiller had already been preparing as though he would start.

“I thought I’ve had great weeks of preparation leading up to games and everything that I’m doing at practice is pretty much just translating over onto Sundays,” he said.

The Bills may have an interesting decision to make when Jackson returns from injury.

“That’s not up to me, that’s up to the coaches,” said Spiller.  “I think they do a great job of making sure that we get all our playmakers on the field at the same time. The only thing I can control is going out there and trying to help my team win my right now until we get him back and the rest of it will take care of itself.”
