McGahee Wants Extension

Drew Rosenhaus said getting Willis McGahee a contract extension will be "a high priority" this offseason. "Willis has been a very productive player for the Buffalo Bills," Rosenhaus said from his Miami office. "He has played through injuries. He's worked hard. He has been a good teammate. I think he deserves a new contract and we will vigorously pursue that this offseason."

McGahee Returns After Blow To Head

Buffalo Bills running back Willis McGahee returned after missing one series with a head and neck injury against the Miami Dolphins. McGahee had been knocked woozy and lost a fumble after being leveled by a helmet-to-helmet hit by linebacker Zach Thomas on the Bills' first possession. Thomas was not penalized on the play. After laying on the field for several minutes, McGahee walked slowly to the sideline while pointing to his helmet. He sat on the bench wearing a jacket and did not return for Buffalo's next series, the team announcing he was being held out for observation. McGahee returned in the second quarter and had 15 yards on four carries.

McGahee Hurt During First Quarter

Bills running back Willis McGahee limped off the field after being knocked woozy following a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first quarter against the Dolphins on Sunday. McGahee was hurt on the first possession when, running off right tackle, he was hit by Zach Thomas, the linebacker's helmet striking the running back's helmet. McGahee fumbled on the play, the ball recovered by Miami's Donnie Spragan. After laying on the field for several minutes, McGahee walked slowly to the sideline while pointing to his helmet. He sat on the bench wearing a jacket and did not return for next series.

McGahee Leaves Game With Mysterious Illness

Buffalo running back Willis McGahee sat out the second quarter of the Bills' game against the New York Jets with an undisclosed illness. Linebacker Takeo Spikes was also taken to the locker room in the second quarter with an ankle injury, and his return was questionable. McGahee spent most of the second half on the end of Buffalo's bench with his jersey and pads off and a big, blue Bills jacket draped over him. He was on his way to a big game against the Jets, gaining 75 yards on six carries, including a 57-yard TD run. Shortly before halftime, McGahee was standing on the sideline with his pads and jersey back on.
