Days after the Browns' running backs were called out by their position coach, head coach Mike Pettine told SI.com that the team has discussed whether it makes sense to sign Ray Rice.

Rice has not played since he was released by the Ravens last season after video surfaced that showed him knocking out Janay Rice, who was then his fiancée, in an elevator.

Raves veteran wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. announced that he will retire at the end of the 2015 season, making it clear that he's choosing family over football.

"I feel like it's time," said Smith, who used the phrase three times during his announcement after Monday's training camp practice. "I'm going to retire after this, go home and be a dad and look back and enjoy things."

The Baltimore Ravens will be without Matt Elam for the entire 2015 season with a torn biceps.

Elam is seeking a second opinion, but the safety needs surgery to repair his injury.

Elam was a first round pick in 2013 for the Ravens.

Elam has struggled to develop at safety for Baltimore and this injury will put him even further behind.
