Ravens, Oher Begin Extension Talks

The Baltimore Ravens have opened initial contract extension talks with offensive tackle Michael Oher.

Oher is under contract through 2013.

"We've had some preliminary discussions with his agent," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said.

Oher is signed to his original five-year rookie deal worth $12.799 million, which included $7.82 million in guaranteed money.

"I love it here," Oher told The Baltimore Sun. "It's a great organization, great city. I would love to finish out here. That's up to the organization. Without a doubt my ears are open."

Foster, Defense Give Texans 43-13 Win (+20.1 TC, +27 TRC)

The Houston Texans defeated the Baltimore Ravens 43-13 in dominating fashion.

The Texans had a +20.1 advantage in The Trench Counter, recording 15 more first downs while averaging 2.5 more yards per play and winning the turnover battle 2-0. The Texans also had a +27 in Total Rushes/Completions.

Arian Foster rushed 19 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns, but the Texans first scored on a Connor Barwin safety of Joe Flacco. The Texans' defense put points on the board again in the second quarter with a Johnathan Joseph interception return.

Matt Schaub went 23-for-37 for 256 yards and two touchdowns.

Joe Flacco went 21-for-43 for one touchdown and two interceptions.

Suggs Expected To Return Against Texans

Terrell Suggs is planning on returning from his torn Achilles on Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens travel to Houston to play the Texans.

Suggs is making one of the quickest returns from a torn Achilles of any athlete in history.

Suggs was the 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Ray Lewis Made Final Tackle With Triceps Already Torn

The final tackle of the 2012 season for Ray Lewis came on Phillip Tanner after he had already torn his triceps.

Lewis was injured a few players prior to the tackle, but couldn't leave the field to the Cowboys' offense operating in the no-huddle.

Ray Lewis Out For Remainder Of Season With Torn Triceps

Ray Lewis will miss the remainder of the 2012 season with a complete tear of his triceps.

''Ray in the locker room afterward, we didn't know (the extent of the injury) but he was worried about it,'' Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday. ''He said some things about his faith. He said some things that I'll never forget.''

It had previously been speculated that Lewis would retire at the end of the season, his 17th in the NFL.

Lardarius Webb Out For Season With Torn ACL

Lardarius Webb tore the ACL in his left knee and is done for the remainder of the season.

The Baltimore Ravens will struggle to replace Webb at cornerback as their pass defense already ranked 23rd in the NFL.

Webb has been the Ravens' best playmaker in the secondary over the past two seasons.

Webb signed a six-year, $52 million deal in April.

Ravens Beat Cowboys 31-29 (-2.0 TC, -28 TRC)

The Baltimore Ravens improved to 5-1 with a 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Dan Bailey missed a 51-yard field goal with :06 remaining after the Cowboys recovered an onside kick following a Dez Bryant touchdown in the final minute.

The Ravens had a -2.0 deficit in The Trench Counter, largely due to a -11 differential in first downs. The Cowboys had a +28 advantage in Total Rushes/Completions.

Ray Rice rushed for just 63 yards on 16 carries, but he had two goalline touchdowns.

Joe Flacco was 17-for-26 for 234 yards and a touchdown to Torrey Smith, while Jacoby Jones added a 108-yard kickoff return.

Tony Romo went 250for-36 for two touchdowns and an interception.

DeMarco Murray rushed 14 times for 93 yards before leaving with injury, while Felix Jones rushed 18 times for 92 yards and a touchdown.

Dez Bryant had his best game of the season, catching 13 balls for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

The Cowboys are now 2-3 for the season.

The Ravens had a +6.5 advantage in The Trench Counter, winning the turnover differential +2 and recording nearly half as many penalty yards. The Chiefs had a +25 edge in Total Rushes/Completions, rushing 50 times in total.

Joe Flacco was just 13-for-27 for 187 yards and one interception, though he did pick up a key 3rd and long on the ground late in the game.

Ray Rice rushed 17 times for 102 yards.

Matt Cassel went 9-for-15 for 92 yards, two interceptions and a lost fumble, while Brady Quinn finished the game.

Jamaal Charles rushed 30 times for 140 yards.

Terrell Suggs To Return Oct. 21st Or Nov. 4th

Terrell Suggs expects to be back for the Baltimore Ravens' game against the Texans on October 21st.

But John Harbaugh plans to add one extra week after the Ravens' medical staff clears Suggs, which could mean a November 4th return after the bye.

Suggs was the 2011 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Suggs injured his Achilles while playing basketball in the offseason.
