New Trial Date For Vick On State Charges Expected Tuesday

The prosecutor in Michael Vick?s state dogfighting case expects a new trial date to be set Tuesday, according to an Associated Press report. Surry County Commonwealth?s Attorney Gerald Poindexter said Monday he was working with the suspended NFL quarterback?s lawyers to determine the date. The trial originally was scheduled for April 2.

DeAngelo Hall claims that he will finalize a contract with the Raiders on Thursday morning, according to ESPN.com's John Clayton. The deal is reportedly worth $70 million over the next seven years, with the amount of guaranteed money yet to be determined. "There is just some tweaking of the language that needs to be done, some minor details," Hall told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "No deal breakers."

Vick's Trial On Dogfighting Charges Delayed

The trial of former NFL quarterback Michael Vick has been delayed in Virginia, according to Yahoo! Sports. He was scheduled to stand trial on April 2nd, and a new date has not been set yet according to a the Surry County Commonwealth Attorney's office. The trial will be rescheduled in late March.

The Raiders and Falcons have agreed in principle to a deal that would send cornerback DeAngelo Hall to Oakland in exchange for a second-round pick in next month's draft, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com. Hall is close to agreeing with the Raiders on a new contract that would pay him just slightly less than what the Eagles give Samuel a few weeks ago.

Michael Vick is an inmate at a minimum security prison in Leavenworth, Kansas, but he hasn't started a drug treatment program, according to ESPN.com. He is still awaiting admission into the program, which would allow him to shorten his prison sentence. If he is not able to enter the program, he will be behind bars until at least June 2009.
