The Atlanta Falcons have hired Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Jimmy Lake as their new defensive coordinator.

They also made official the hiring of Zac Robinson as offensive coordinator under new head coach Raheem Morris.

Morris comes over after serving as the defensive coordinator for the Rams.

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing over more than just their new head coach from the Los Angeles Rams.

In one of the first hires for new Falcons coach Raheem Morris, he is tabbing Zac Robinson to be the team's offensive coordinator, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Robinson, 37, had been the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Rams for the past two seasons as he worked his way up the coaching ranks there.

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to hire Raheem Morris as their head coach.

Morris most recently was defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams and also was an assistant coach with the Falcons from 2015 until 2020.

Morris was previously head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 until 2011.

Atlanta interviewed 14 different candidates including Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel and Jim Harbuagh. 

The Atlanta Falcons are interviewing Mike Vrabel for their head coaching vacancy on Wednesday.

Vrabel has been widely considered one of the top candidates on the market after his departure from the Tennessee Titans.

The Falcons will also interview Jim Harbaugh for a second time on Thursday.

Raheem Morris is one of the top head coaching candidates on the market and has second in-person interviews upcoming with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks.

Morris was head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 until 2011. Morris has been defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams since 2021.

Sunday turned out to be a very big day for Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

In the afternoon, he guided the Lions' offense to 391 yards in a 31-23 win over Tampa Bay -- securing Detroit's first NFC title game berth since the 1991 season.

At night, after the win, one of the most popular candidates in this coaching cycle completed a virtual interview with the Atlanta Falcons for the team's open head coach gig.

The Atlanta Falcons are scheduling a second interview with Michigan's Jim Harbaugh for the team's vacant head coach position, a source told ESPN on Saturday, confirming a report.

The date of the second interview is not yet clear. Harbaugh first interviewed with the Falcons on Tuesday -- a little more than a week after he led Michigan to its first national championship since the 1997 season.

Mike Vrabel is interviewing with the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday to discuss their head coaching vacancy.

The Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks are also interested in interviewing Vrabel. 

The Tennessee Titans parted ways with Vrabel last week.

The Atlanta Falcons have scheduled a second interview with Bill Belichick for this weekend as they continue to discuss their head coaching vacancy.

Belichick previously met with Arthur Blank one-on-one this past week.

CEO Rich McKay and GM Terry Fontenot will join for the second interview with Belichick.

Belichick and the New England Patriots mutually parted ways last week.

The Atlanta Falcons interviewed Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday, a day after sitting down with Bill Belichick to discuss their head coaching vacancy.

Harbaugh, 60, has been at Michigan since 2015, winning the national championship earlier this month and three straight Big Ten titles. 

This is Harbaugh's second known interview. He also spoke with the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday.
