Quarterback Joey Harrington was among the final cuts by the Falcons on Saturday, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The team decided to keep D.J. Shockley as their No. 3 quarterback behind rookie Matt Ryan and backup Chris Redman.
Harrington, the third overall pick in the 2002 draft and a starter for 10 games last season, was the odd man out in an open quarterback competition.

Matt Ryan, Teammates In Minor Car Accident
Falcons' quarterback Matt Ryan and teammates D.J. Shockley and Brian Finneran were in a minor car accident on the way to practice on Wednesday morning, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Ryan was driving his vehicle when they were hit by another vehicle, according to a Falcons' representative. The vehicle suffered minor damage, and the three players were uninjured.
Falcons Name Matt Ryan Starting QB
The Falcons have named rookie Matt Ryan their starting quarterback heading into the 2008 season, according to NFL.com.
Ryan will make his professional debut as a starter on Sept. 7 against the Lions.
Chris Redman began the preseason as number one on the team's depth chart, but Ryan surpassed him after looking poised in the team's win over the Titans on Friday.

The Falcons on Sunday signed Marcus Pollard, four days after the tight end was released by the Patriots, as reported by Yahoo.com.

Falcons Cut Joe Horn
Joe Horn got his wish Tuesday when the Atlanta Falcons granted the receiver his release, his agent Ralph Vitolo said.
Horn, 36, had been asking to be released since the start of training camp. The Falcons are trying to get younger and Horn wanted to catch on with a team that could make a playoff run this year.
Horn Desperately Wants To Leave Falcons
Wide receiver Joe Horn still desperately wants to leave the Falcons and claims that he has "contemplated" restructuring or forfeiting part of the $2.5 million in guaranteed base salary he's owed, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"I'm even contemplating giving some money back to further this thing along," Horn said. "I'm ready to get it solved and move on. The longer I stay here, the worse it's going to get."
The Falcons claim they are open to restructuring Horn's contract only to facilitate a trade.
"Joe is under contract, and it's our policy not to discuss particulars of his contract," general manager Thomas Dimitroff said.
Redman To Start For Falcons On Saturday
Chris Redman will start for the Falcons on Saturday against the Jaguars, according to The Florida Times-Union.
Atlanta Coach Mike Smith claims that rookie Matt Ryan will see plenty of time against Jacksonville.
Patriots Sign Former Falcons' OL Stokes
The Patriots have signed former Falcons' offensive lineman Barry Stokes to an undisclosed contract, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Stokes has played in 83 career games for the Dolphins, Packers, Browns, Falcons, and Lions.
