The Pittsburgh Steelers have cut Jonathan Dwyer in a somewhat surprising move.

Dwyer was the Steelers' leading rusher in 2012, but a late trade for Felix Jones made him expendable.

The Steelers also drafted Le'Veon Bell in the offseason.

The Seattle Seahawks won't keep Antoine Winfield on their 53-man roster.

Winfield is 36 and entering his 15th season.

The Seahawks will look to trade Winfield and will cut him if a deal cannot be reached.

Jimmy Clausen has been cut by the Carolina Panthers.

Clausen was a second round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Clausen struggled as a rookie before the Panthers moved in a different direction with Cam Newton the following season.

Vince Young has been released by the Green Bay Packers.

Young didn't play in the NFL last season and was attempting to make a comeback with the Packers.

Young was the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2006.

The New England Patriots have cut Tim Tebow.

Tebow was signed by the Patriots in June more than a month after being released by the New York Jets.

Tebow finished the preseason with a 47.2 passer rating while completing 36.7 percent of his passes.

Matt Leinart has been released by the Buffalo Bills five days after being signed by the club.

Leinart went just 3-for-10 for 11 yards and a pair of interceptions in Thursday's preseason game.

The Bills needed a quarterback with EJ Manuel sidelined due to a knee injury and Kevin Kolb's career in jeopardy due to another concussion.

"Tough game. Tough situation. No excuses. (Thank) you to the Bills organization!" Leinart wrote Friday, before deleting the tweet.

The Chicago Bears have cut J'Marcus Webb.

Webb took a pay cut earlier in August.

Jordan Mills will start for the Bears at right tackle.

Webb started 44 of the 46 games he played for the Bears over the past three years.

Jay Cutler demonstratively yelled at Webb during a nationally televised loss to the Green Bay Packers last season.

The New England Patriots have released Ras-I Dowling.

Dowling was the 33rd overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft at cornerback out of Virginia.

Dowling has battled injuries throughout his tenure with the Patriots.

The New York Jets have signed Dan Carpenter while also releasing Billy Cundiff.

Carpenter was released this month by the Miami Dolphins.

The New York Jets have released Braylon Edwards.

Edwards was an All-Pro in 2007, but has struggled to remain relevant in recent seasons, bouncing around to the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and back to the Jets.
