C.J. Anderson: Todd Gurley 'More Hurt' Than Rams Thought

Feb 20, 2019 10:22 AM

Todd Gurley dealt with a knee injury late in the season and C.J. Anderson says his teammate was "more hurt" than the Los Angeles Rams thought.

"He was more hurt than what we thought," Anderson said. "The injury was a little bit more than what everybody in the building thought, including himself."

Anderson had 299 rushing yards in the final two games of the regular season and was featured in the playoffs.

Gurley tore his ACL in 2014.

"Obviously, it's the same knee injury he's had before in his career," Anderson said. "Obviously I had surgery on my meniscus and once you have a knee, you always have a knee. So it aggravates and if he was getting a lot of touches earlier in the year -- obviously him being one of the best backs, that probably was the case."

Aaron Rodgers Won't Need Knee Surgery

Feb 4, 2019 3:52 PM

Aaron Rodgers has been able to avoid surgery on his left knee.

Rodgers suffered the injury in the Green Bay Packers' Week 1 opener and he subsequently wore a brace until Nov. 4.

Rodgers had hinted during the season that surgery might be necessary this offseason.

"I feel great," Rodgers said on NFL Network. "My body feels really good. Instead of getting surgery postseason, decided to kind of go through a different routine with my knee than I've done in the past, and I'm feeling really, really good. Got a concussion the last game, that's cleared up. I'm feeling really good. I'm getting back into my workout routine, but the first month of the offseason is a lot about yoga and traveling."

Cam Newton Could Return From Shoulder By Training Camp

Feb 3, 2019 12:15 PM

Cam Newton could be ready for training camp after last month's arthroscopic shoulder surgery and certainly in time for the start of the regular season.

Newton told 680 The Fan in Atlanta this past week that his throwing arm was "better than I thought it would be."

"It's good, it's good," Newton added during his interview with 680 The Fan. "With so much going on throughout this season, I was in fear to see what was actually wrong."

Newton missed the final two games after battling shoulder pain and discomfort throughout this past season.
