Marshawn Lynch is 50-50 on whether he'll play this Monday against the Detroit Lions.

Lynch is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Thomas Rawls was productive for the Seattle Seahawks in the absence of Lynch in Week 3.

Drew Brees expects to play in Week 4 after missing Week 3 with a shoulder injury.

"I don't know my situation this week. I'm day to day. I plan to and expect to start on Sunday but if I don't we're in good hands with Luke (McCown)," Brees told Cox Sports Television.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Brees is a "long shot" to play in Week 4 after suffering a rotator cuff injury.

Ben Roethlisberger suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were relieved Roethlisberger didn't tear his ACL.

Besides the MCL sprain, Roethlisberger also suffered a bone bruise, according to the source.

"Ben is a competitor and we are confident he will do everything in his power to return at the appropriate time," Mike Tomlin said Monday in the statement.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are guarded optimistic that Roethlisberger didn't suffer a torn ACL.

Roethlisberger was seen on crutches following the game, a 12-6 victory, and is scheduled to have an MRI. 

With 5:35 left in the third quarter, Rams safety Mark Barron sacked Roethlisberger after coming on a blitz, hitting him just below his left knee. Roethlisberger went down and immediately grabbed at the knee before the play was whistled dead.

Michael Vick replaced Roethlisberger at quarterback.

DeMarco Murray is expected to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 against the New York Jets.

Murray suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice.

Murray has rushed for just 11 yards on 21 carries.

Drew Brees has been ruled out by the New Orleans Saints for Week 3 with a rotator cuff injury.

Luke McCown will start at quarterback for the Saints in place of Brees.

Brees has never missed a start for the Saints due to injury.

Kiko Alonso has suffered a partially torn ACL.

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Alonso from the Buffalo Bills in the LeSean McCoy trade.

The injury isn't as bad as the Eagles initially feared, per Rapoport, and the linebacker will meet with Dr. James Andrews to get a second opinion. That will determine if Alonso's season is over or if he can return to the field at some point this year.

Although Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans have been starting at inside linebacker, Alonso had been playing meaningful snaps in nickel packages.

Tony Romo will be placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list.

The move ensures Romo will miss at least the next eight weeks.

He is eligible to return to action for the Cowboys' Week 11 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Romo suffered a fractured collarbone in the second half of the Cowboys' 20-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Jay Cutler will miss at least two weeks with a hamstring injury.

Cutler suffered the injury trying to make a tackle following an interception in Week 2.

The Chicago Bears are off to an 0-2 start.

Jimmy Clausen will start for the Bears in Cutler's absence.

Drew Brees has a rotator cuff injury that will likely cause him to miss several games.

Brees underwent an MRI on Monday.

Sean Payton told reporters Monday that it was too "early" to tell whether the team might consider sitting Brees down to let him heal.
