Jameis Winston Undergoing Tests On Shoulder

Feb 20, 2015 2:16 PM

Jameis Winston is having his shoulder tested to determine why he's showing weakness in that area, which was discovered during combine medical exams.

Sources said Winston had electromyography to study a weakness in his shoulder that often can be caused by a nerve problem and can be treated through therapy, if necessary.

It is not unusual for players to have medical concerns re-examined with expansive testing at the combine. Winston not only has played quarterback at Florida State but also was a vital member of the Seminoles baseball team, primarily as a relief pitcher.

Peyton Manning Begins Working Out For 2015 Season

Feb 10, 2015 1:20 PM

Peyton Manning has already begun working out to prepare for the 2015 season.

Manning wants to see where he is physically in the next stage of the evaluation process.

Manning is expected to work with renowned strength and conditioning coach Mackie Shilstone this week, Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune reported.

Shilstone is a specialist in career longevity, most famous for his work with boxers Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins.

John Elway's confidence in Manning suggests the quarterback's slump was attributable to a lingering thigh injury rather than a sudden loss of arm strength that will remain a problem going forward.

Kam Chancellor Played Super Bowl With Torn MCL

Feb 5, 2015 11:40 AM

Kam Chancellor played the Super Bowl with a torn MCL in his left knee along with a deep bone bruise on the outside of his knee.

Chancellor fell to the ground when he was hit on the knee near the end of practice two days before the Super Bowl, suffering the bruise.

Chancellor said he didn't know whether he was going to play Sunday when he went down in practice, even though he was listed as probable.

"They told me I wasn't going to be able to play," he said. "They told me torn MCL and bone bruise. I was mad. I was frustrated. But at the end of the day, I was able to play. My teammates came to me. They prayed with me. That's when it hit me. Why am I mad? I've got to be grateful for how I'm feeling right now. There are some people out there worse than me.

"I could have had a broken knee and not been able to play. So I just prayed for health and happiness. I prayed for peace and just to be able to make it to the game and play as much as I could for my teammates."
