Jadeveon Clowney Placed On PUP List

Jul 27, 2015 6:27 PM

Jadeveon Clowney has been placed on the physically unable to perform list by the Houston Texans.

Clowney will begin training camp on the list and still count against the Texans' active roster. The move allows them to keep Clowney on the PUP list into the regular season if necessary, but he can come off at any time during training camp.

Clowney had microfracture surgery on that right knee Dec. 8, a procedure in which tiny fractures are made into the bones around the knee to improve blood flow to the meniscus, the cartilage that pads the knee joint.

Clowney was the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Odell Beckham Insists Hamstring Feeling Better

Jul 23, 2015 11:13 AM

Odell Beckham missed the end of the New York Giants offseason workouts due to a right hamstring issue.

Last preseason, Beckham missed all four games and the first five regular season games due to an injured left hamstring.

“It feels a lot better, actually,” Beckham said. “I’d rather be healthy than anything else. I just don’t want to go through what I had to go through last year. Not just for myself, but for this team.”

C.J. Wilson Released From Hospital After Fireworks' Accident

Jul 14, 2015 1:54 AM

C.J. Wilson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was released from a hospital on Friday after losing two fingers in a fireworks accident.

Wilson underwent at least two surgeries on his hand while hospitalized at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The cornerback's father, Curtis Wilson Sr., appearing on Charlotte's WBTV last week, said the fireworks did not pop out of the canister when they exploded. He said his son lost his index and middle fingers off of one of his hands.

Wilson Sr. was asked by WBTV how the injury might affect his son's career.

"For me, that really doesn't matter. My son is alive, so God took care of him as far as that. I guess we'll cross that bridge later on down the road," he told the television station last week.

The accident occurred in Wilson's hometown of Lincolnton, North Carolina, on July 4.

Giants' Trainer To Evaluate Severity Of Jason Pierre-Paul's Injury

Jul 8, 2015 10:37 AM

Jason Pierre-Paul will be visited by the New York Giants' trainer to get clarity on his hand injury.

After initial reports suggested severe damage to JPP's hand, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that, as of Sunday night, doctors were still examining for nerve damage and other issues related to the incident but the injuries weren't believed to be career-threatening.

At this point, if doctors determine the injury isn't severe enough for him to start the season on the NFI list, the defensive end will likely play 2015 on the $14.8 million franchise tag.
