NFL Finds 'No Credible Evidence' In Al-Jazeera Investigation

Aug 31, 2016 4:10 PM

The NFL has found "no credible evidence" that James Harrison, Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers used or were provided with prohibited substances after an investigation into allegations made in a documentary by Al-Jazeera.

An NFL statement said the investigation, which started in January, "involved witness interviews, a review of relevant records and other materials, electronic research, and laboratory analysis and review.''

After the interviews last week, a source close to the situation told ESPN that the players were not confronted with any new evidence or allegations.

The league interviewed Peyton Manning, who also was named in the report, earlier this offseason and issued a statement last month clearing his name.

Josh Brown Violent With Ex-Wife More Than 20 Times

Aug 19, 2016 11:00 AM

Josh Brown’s ex-wife told police on the day of his 2015 arrest that the New York Giants kicker had been physically violent with her over 20 times and that she had previously had a protection order against him, and that the violence began when she was pregnant with their daughter back in 2009, according to an incident report obtained by the Daily News.

Brown has received a one-game suspension by the NFL.

When asked Thursday about the incident that led to his arrest, Brown said, “It was just a moment.” It was announced that Brown had been suspended by the NFL for one game on Wednesday and when Brown spoke on Thursday news had not yet broken of the rest of the allegations.

In reports and 911 tapes obtained by The News, it is revealed that police responded to the Brown house on two consecutive days. On a 911 call from the day before, Molly Brown said the kicker “genuinely got in my son’s face,” referring to her 16-year-old son, who was Brown’s stepson.

The second 911 call, on May 22, occurred after Molly Brown said he grabbed her wrist during an argument about finances.

The Giants were aware of Brown’s May 2015 arrest when it re-signed him to a two-year, $4 million deal with $1 million guaranteed in April.

“Molly described in her statement the history of physical violence against her from her husband Joshua,” the incident report reads. “Molly stated that Joshua had been physically violent to her on more than 20 different instances over the past several years. She said that Joshua became violent after she became pregnant with their daughter.”

Aug 9, 2016 3:44 PM

Lane Johnson, who signed a five-year, $52.25 million contract extension in February, is reportedly facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL PED policy.

Fox Sports reported that Johnson said he took an approved amino acid but tested positive for a banned peptide, and he is appealing the suspension, which was first reported via Twitter by Wildfire Radio and confirmed by NFL Network.

"We are aware that a member of the media has started a rumor that Lane Johnson will be suspended for a PED violation," said Johnson's agent, Ken Sarnoff, in a statement released to ESPN on Tuesday. "Lane has not been suspended and any report to the contrary is false. None the less we will not comment on my client's protected health information."
