Peyton Manning Welcomes Investigation Into 'Garbage' HGH Report

Jan 29, 2016 12:31 PM

Peyton Manning supports the NFL's investigation into an Al-Jazeera America report linking him to human growth hormone.

"I do welcome it. It's no news to me," Manning said after practice. "I still stand by what I said then that it's garbage from the first day that it came out, garbage today."

Manning was asked if the investigation would be a burden for the Denver Broncos ahead of the Super Bowl.

"None, no."

NFL Insists They're Investigating Peyton Manning Despite Report

Jan 26, 2016 8:02 PM

The NFL insists it is conducting a comprehensive investigation of Peyton Manning's alleged use of HGH.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy tells the Associated Press that the league launched an investigation “weeks ago,” and that it entails the review of records, interviews, and coordination with other agencies.

It seems to be a direct reaction to the report from ESPN that the NFL declined an invitation to collaborate with Major League Baseball and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

The overriding challenge from the NFL comes from its lack of power to obtain information from anyone other than Manning or any other NFL player, team, or employee.

Josh Gordon Applies For Reinstatement To NFL

Jan 21, 2016 12:53 PM

Josh Gordon has officially applied for reinstatement with the NFL.

Gordon was suspended on Feb. 3, 2015 for violating the league's policy on substances of abuse. The terms of the suspension allow the wideout to apply for reinstatement as early as 60 days prior to the one-year anniversary of the date of his ban.

Gordon was given an indefinite suspension after his third volition. He failed a test for alcohol following the 2014 season, after serving a 10-game ban for a DWI arrest.

Gordon has been one of the NFL's most productive wide receivers when on the field.

Vontaze Burfict Receives Three-Game Suspension From NFL

Jan 11, 2016 7:54 PM

Vontaze Burfict has received a three-game suspension from the NFL.

Burfict's suspension is for "repeated violations of safety-related playing rules."

Burfict’s most recent violation came with 22 seconds remaining in last Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he was penalized for unnecessary roughness for using his shoulder to make forcible contact to the head and neck area of a defenseless receiver.

Burfict has previously been fined for safety-related violations four times in 2015, including a $50,000 fine for unnecessarily contacting an opponent who was out of the play in Cincinnati’s Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Peyton Manning HGH Report Had Second Source Beyond Charles Sly

Jan 7, 2016 10:43 AM

Deborah Davies of Al Jazeera claims they had a second source for the report that the Guyer Institute reportedly sent HGH to Peyton Manning's wife, Ashley Manning.

The report had previously only been attributed to Charles Sly, who was secretly recorded connecting Ashley Manning to HGH while strongly suggesting it was used by Peyton Manning. Sly has since recanted the statements he made on tape.

“[W]e had a second source,” Davies said, via quotes from the show distributed by CNN.  “Absolutely impeccably placed, knowledgeable, and credible, who confirmed exactly what Charlie Sly said. Shipments of HGH were repeatedly, repeatedly sent to Ashley Manning in Florida and other places in the U.S. . . . There are different kinds of sources.  There are some you can name, there are some you can’t.  This is a source we cannot name.  We could not name.  The value of that source was to add to the level of confidence we already had in what Charlie Sly was saying.”

Davies was asked why didn't they claim there was a second source sooner.

“It would simply have led to another range of speculation, another set of fishing expedition questions,” Davies said. “The second source is credible, well-placed, knowledgeable, and cannot be named.  And that’s all that we can say for now.”
