The newspaper, along with The News Tribune of Tacoma, Wash., reported Wednesday night that Trufant received a non-exclusive tag, meaning he may still negotiate with other teams when free agency begins next month. The Seahawks can match any offer or choose to receive two first-round draft picks as compensation.

Seahawks Sign Guard Wahle To Deal
The Seattle Seahawks signed guard Mike Wahle to a five-year contract on Thursday, according to HeraldNet.
Carolina released Wahle on Monday due to financial reasons, allowing the Seahawks to fill a sizable void on their roster.
The monetary terms of the deal have not been released.
Mora To Succeed Holmgren In Seattle
Jim Mora Jr. will succeed Mike Holmgren as Seahawks' coach, according to a published report.
Citing FoxSports.com, the Seattle Times reported Tuesday that Mora will take over the coaching duties for Holmgren, who announced on January 22 that the 2008-09 season would be his last.
According to the report, the official annoucement will come at a noon press conference on Wednesday.
