Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount has decided to sign a free agent deal with the Titans on Monday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. After going undrafted, Blount had originally agreed to terms with the 49ers. After talking the decision over with his family and Titans coach Jeff Fisher, Blount decided that his best opportunity was in Tennessee. Per our source, Blount has respectfully explained his decision to 49ers coach Mike Singletary and is on good terms with him.

San Francisco signed Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount as an undrafted free agent on Saturday. "It's a great organization and a great situation for him," Blount's agent, Zeke Sandhu, told the NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. Blount made national headlines for punching Boise State linebacker Byron Hout after the Ducks' season opener in September.

Taylor Mays was drafted by the 49ers and he will enjoy playing against the Seahawks twice a year, who are now coached by Pete Carroll. "It was just interesting," said Mays about Carroll. "I thought, I definitely thought from the relationship that we have, from the things that he had told me about what I needed to be, what the draft process is, things that I needed to do, I felt he told me the complete opposite of the actions that he took, which was definitely alarming. There were things he told me I needed to do as a football player versus the actions he took and who he took as a safety. I understand it's a business, but with it being a business, honesty is all I'm asking for." Mays continued when asked about the advice Carroll offered. "Just in terms that I didn't have anything to worry about, that my game was OK, that my backpedal was fine, my tackling was fine, it was all the things that I asked, what do I need to work on, what do I need to show all these points. I was kind of led to think I was OK. It is what it is and I'm so happy to be with the 49ers on the team Ronnie Lott played on."

The 49ers have traded the 13th pick, along with a fourth round selection, to the Broncos in exchange for the 11th pick. San Francisco has used the pick to take Rutgers offensive tackle Anthony Davis.

The Miami Dolphins have traded Ted Ginn Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers will send a late round pick to Miami in next week's draft. Ginn became expendable when the Dolphins were able to acquire Brandon Marshall earlier this week.

The 49ers have signed restricted free agent linebacker Ahmad Brooks to a two-year contract. Brooks had received a second-round tender, but was able to reach a longer-term deal to stay in San Francisco.
