The agent for Rams wide receiver Mardy Gilyard denied a rumor from former St. Louis assistant Rick Venturi that the former University of Cincinnati standout had requested a trade.
"Mardy Gilyard never requested a trade," agent Andy Simms wrote on his Twitter account. "Untrue."
Simms isn't the only one shooting down the rumor from Venturi, who works for 101 ESPN in St. Louis.
Tony Softli, a former Rams executive who works for the same outlet as Venturi, reported that Gilyard hasn't asked for a trade.

Rams Donate $25K To Tornado Relief
The Rams are contributing $25,000 to relief efforts from the tornado that devastated Missouri this week and damaged parts of St. Louis County last month.
The Rams announced Friday the contribution will be divided equally between the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
In addition, the franchise said it would match contributions from its employees.
Torry Holt Not Ready To Retire
Torry Holt, 34, has told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he hasn't filed his retirement papers with the league and would like to find a team for the 2011 season.
"I haven't retired," said Holt, who suffered a season-ending knee injury while in the New England's camp last year.
"I'm going to continue to keep my options open. I'm training right now. So if something comes about -- great. If not, hey, the NFL Network has been good to me. They gave me an opportunity to talk football, stay around the game. We'll see."
Rams Vice President Out After 28 Years
Rams vice president of operations John Oswald has been dismissed after 28 years with the team.
Oswald, who was informed of his termination Friday, joins the likes of other longtime team employees such as head equipment manager Todd Hewitt and athletic trainers Jim Anderson and Dake Walden to be fired in recent years by the current regime.
"I've spent half my life with the organization, and I wouldn't change a thing," Oswald told the Post-Dispatch.
"I was very fortunate. Georgia (Frontiere) was great to me; Stan (Kroenke) was great to me. I put my heart and soul into the job. But it's an eye-opening experience after 28 years to be told that 'we're going in a different direction.'"
Is Sproles A Fit For Rams?
The Rams are in need of a third-down back and Michael Lombardi of NFL.com writes that Darren Sproles would be perfect in such a role.
"Sproles would be to the Rams what Danny Woodhead has been to the Patriots. He would allow Sam Bradford to have an effective check-down option, is a great screen runner, and his talents would force teams to defend the middle of the field, thus taking pressure off the outside receivers," Lombardi wrote.
