Rams To File Complaint Against Giants For Faking Injures

Sep 7, 2014 2:07 AM

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Tuesday that the team will file a complaint with the NFL office after the Giants appeared to fake injuries on Monday night. New York did so in an apparent attempt to slow down the no-huddle offense. "That'll go on the list of things we're going to send in," Spagnuolo said. "I think the league is looking into it. I'll let it run its course from that point of view."

Steven Jackson's Status Remains Undetermined

The Rams don't know if running back Steven Jackson will be healthy enough to face the Ravens on Sunday. Jackson didn't face the Giants this past Monday night because of a right quadriceps injury suffered in the team's Week 1 loss to the Eagles.

Meeting With Owner Makes Spagnuolo Late For Press Conference

Jul 2, 2014 5:44 AM

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo was late to his press conference following the team's loss to the Giants on Monday night. Spagnuolo was 20 to 25 minutes late, a rules violation. A head coach must address the media 10 to 12 minutes, maximum, after the end of the game. He said he was talking to owner Stan Kroenke, as he did after a Week 1 loss to Philadelphia. "I do deeply apologize for being last at the postgame conferences," Spagnuolo said. "I want you to know it's not out of any disrespect and I do know that the jobs you guys have, there's a lot going on at that time and you want to get the players and you don't want to be sitting in the press conference room waiting for me. I've visited a couple times with Mr, Kroenke, and I value that time. He's great. I appreciate him coming in and talking to us and myself. That's kind of what's happened, but we'll get that squared away and I promise you that we'll take care of you like we should."

Injuries Knock Out Manningham, Hixon

Aug 1, 2014 5:07 PM

Mario Manningham suffered a concussion and did not pass his baseline concussion tests on the Giants sideline at the end of the first half of a win over the Rams on Monday night. Manningham will face further tests this week and coach Tom Coughlin hopes he will be available to play against the Eagles next Sunday. "Evidently it was right at the end of the first half," Coughlin said. "He bobbled that ball, the big play ball. I guess when he came in he was kind of dizzy at that point in time." Domenik Hixon left the game after hurting his calf on the same leg that underwent ACL surgery last season.

Giants' Tuck, Nicks Questionable For MNF

Two key Giants starters are questionable for Monday night's home opener against the Rams. Defensive end Justin Tuck, who missed Week 1 with a neck injury, was limited in Saturday's practice. Same goes for wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who suffered a bone bruise and a hyperextended knee in the first quarter of the Giants' season-opening loss to Washington.

Steven Jackson Hopes To Play Monday Night

Jul 3, 2014 5:57 AM

Steven Jackson has not ruled himself out for the Rams' Monday night game against the Giants. But he hasn't practiced yet this week and some of his comments made it appear he is already gearing up for Week 3. Jackson strained his right quadriceps on a 47-yard scoring run on the Rams' first offensive play of the season during Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Jackson said Thursday after pool therapy during practice that the injury had improved. "It's all predicated on how I feel on Monday. But definitely shooting to have an outside chance to be able to go," Jackson said.

Bradford Throws With Special Glove

Jul 28, 2014 9:15 PM

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford made all his throws during a short practice on Wednesday despite a bruised index finger. A special glove designed to increase blood flow to the injury and reduce swelling may have helped get him back on the field quickly. "Everyone says I look like Michael Jackson," Bradford joked. "I'm not really sure what it does. They say it works and obviously my hand feels better, so I trust them." Bradford said although there was some soreness, the finger felt "10 times better" than it did on Monday.

Rams rookie defensive end Robert Quinn was shocked that the team opted not to play him against the Eagles on Sunday. "It definitely was a shocker," Quinn said. "I expected to play. Of course, everybody wants to play. But I was 'down' (inactive), so all I could do is support my teammates." St. Louis drafted Quinn with the 14th overall pick in April's NFL Draft.
