Rams, Clayton Discussing Extension
The Rams are discussing a contract extension with wide receiver Mark Clayton.
It remains to be seen if a deal will be reached before the current collective bargaining agreement expires on March 3.
"We've had dialogue with Mark really since the time he got here," said Kevin Demoff, the Rams' executive vice president for football operations.
"He came on a one-year deal. We've had good discussions and we'll continue to have discussions with Mark and his agent throughout.
"He's certainly a candidate to get an extension done before the deadline. But if he doesn't, that wouldn't change our opinion on wanting him back."
Clayton had 23 catches for 306 yards and two touchdowns with St. Louis in 2010 before an injury ended his season.
Rams Increase Ticket Prices Slightly
The Rams have decided to raise ticket prices for the 2011 season on most seats in the Edward Jones Dome.
According to Kevin Demoff, the team's executive vice president for football operations, most ticket prices will increase from $4 to $7 a game for PSL holders.
Demoff said the price of the cheapest tickets, in the upper-reaches of the dome, is not going up.
"The cheapest tickets will remain at $25," he said. "So you can still buy a season ticket for $250. There's varied increases throughout the building. Most fans will have their numbers returned to slightly above what they were in 2009."
Atogwe Hopes To Return To Rams
Even with his release Friday, safety Oshiomogho Atogwe says he hasn't closed the door on a possible return to the Rams.
"My agent and myself have established a really good negotiating relationship with them, so were we to do something again (with the Rams), I don't believe it'd be a difficult task," Atogwe told the Post-Dispatch.
"Because there's no bad blood there. We should be able to get something done."
Rams Release O.J. Atogwe
The Rams have released safety O.J. Atogwe, a league source said Friday.
Atogwe knew this was a distinct possibility, given the nature of his contract. He had an $8 million roster bonus due Feb. 21, which in essence forced a decision from the Rams.
"This is a decision we have made at this time with O.J. We will continue to explore all of our options at the safety position like we will with every other position on our football team," said Rams general manager Billy Devaney in a statement Friday.

Bradford Meets New OC McDaniels
Sam Bradford was at Rams Park on Wednesday, and according to team sources got in a workout in the weight room and said hello to the coaches.
There was no indication of any lengthy meeting between McDaniels and Bradford.
Rams Release Karney As Offense Changes
The Rams have released fullback Mike Karney because of a change in offensive philosophy.
He was inactive in four of the team's final six games as they centered their offense around Sam Bradford.
Karney had one year left on a three-year, $3.5 million contract that he signed as a free agent in March 2009.
Bradford Named Top Offensive Rookie
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford won The Associated Press 2010 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award on Friday.
The first overall selection in last year's draft, Bradford guided the Rams from the embarrassment of a 1-15 record to a 7-9 mark.
"I think the more I'm out there, the more comfortable I become," Bradford said.
"It's been like that all year. There's been some ups, there's been some downs, but I feel like for the most part I've learned from my mistakes each week. I think the game's stating to slow down a little bit, but I really still have a long way to go before I'm as comfortable as I want to be."
Bradford Prepared To Keep Learning Despite Lockout
Sam Bradford realizes this is an important offseason in his development as a quarterback and will try to prevent the NFL's labor dispute from interfering.
"If there is a lockout, I would imagine me and our wide receivers will have to get together somewhere, whether it be in Oklahoma or somewhere warmer where we can throw outside," Bradford said. "This offseason, it is too important for us not to get together and work out."
Bradford will meet for two days in St. Louis with new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
"I would imagine as long as I get the playbook before the lockout happens, then I see no reason why I would have to turn it in," he said. "That is going to be big if there is a lockout and I can't continue to go to St. Louis and meet with [McDaniels]. It will be something I have to do on my own, which is going to be tough. This next month is big for me."
