They can't do so now because of the NFL's current labor unrest, but the Rams plan on re-signing wide receiver Mark Clayton.
"And from what I'm hearing it's all but a slam-dunk that Clayton will re-sign with the team once the lockout ends," wrote Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
In just five games with the Rams in 2010, Clayton caught 23 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns.

Spagnuolo Confirms McDaniels Will Coach QB's
Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he will not hire a quarterbacks coach for the 2011 season, meaning that role will go to new o-coordintor Josh McDaniels.
McDaniels will work closely with QB Sam Bradford, who looks to build on his 2010 Rookie of the Year campaign.
Rams Will At Least Look At Burress, Moss
In need of a big-time wide receiver, the Rams will at least take a look at troublemakers Plaxico Burress and Randy Moss, according to team insiders.
"But there are obvious issues with both of them," said one team insider. "Unlike Michael Vick, who was 28 [nearly 29] when he got out of prison, Burress will be 34 years old [in August]. Moss is a bit more intriguing, but it really does seem like he's no longer a difference maker. He didn't do anything with the Titans."
Former NFL Receiver Drew Hill Dead At 54
Former NFL wide receiver Drew Hill, a two-time Pro Bowler who was a key part of the Houston Oilers' famed "Run and Shoot" offense of the 1980s, died at an Atlanta hospital late Friday after suffering two massive strokes, according to his agent, and reported by ESPN.com.
Piedmont Hospital spokesman Jim Taylor on Saturday confirmed the 54-year-old Hill's death.
Hill fell ill on a golf course on Thursday and died late Friday after suffering the strokes, said his agent, Jay Mathis of Next Level Management.
Bradford May Work Out With Receivers
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford may work out with some of his receivers this summer if the NFL enters a work stoppage.
"Most of us (receivers) are training down in Texas," Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander said. "Me, Donnie Avery, and Fendi (Onobun) are all in one place. Danny Amendola's going to be down there, and Mark Clayton's going to be in Dallas."
Bradford lives in the Oklahoma City area and said last month that he's thinking about getting players together.
"I'm sure we're going to get together," Alexander said. "Sam is going to get us all together and we'll go probably a week or two, just working on routes and stuff like that."
