Will Fuller Suspended Six Games For PED Violation

Nov 30, 2020 8:40 PM

Will Fuller V has been suspended six games for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.

Fuller said the violation was a result of his taking prescribed medication not permitted under the policy.

"Earlier this year, I sought treatment from a medical professional who prescribed medication that he believed to be permitted under the NFL's drug policy," Fuller wrote on Instagram. "As it turns out, my trust in this professional was misplaced because this medication was NOT a permitted substance under the NFL Policy on Performance Enhancing Substances.

"As a result of this mistake, I have been suspended for six games for taking this prohibited medication. I want to sincerely apologize to the Texans organization and all of my fans for this mistake. I am looking forward to putting this all behind me and returning better than ever in 2021."

Jack Easterby Won't Be GM For Texans

Nov 18, 2020 4:00 PM

The Houston Texans won't make Jack Easterby their next general manager.

Team president Jamey Rootes was asked during a Zoom call Wednesday about Bill Belichick saying this week that Easterby is "not a personnel person."

"You're right," Rootes said. "Jack would be the first person to tell you he's not a personnel guy. Jack will not be the general manager of the Houston Texans. Jack realizes we need personnel expertise to put together the best football team. He doesn't have enough time in the day. He's working on sports science, working on nutrition. Spread the word. Jack has no intentions of being the general manager."

Rootes noted that he plans to name a new GM after the season.

Texans Fired Amy Palcic Over 'Cultural Fit' Concerns

Nov 12, 2020 10:38 AM

The Houston Texans told VP of Communications Amy Palcic that he no longer was "a cultural fit," sources tell Adam Schefter.

Palcic was the first and only woman to have full PR responsibilities for an NFL team.

Palcic showed support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Twitter.

On Thursday morning, she posted this message on Twitter: “On what was arguably the most humiliating day of my life, people showed up — my friends, colleagues, total strangers. PR can often be a thankless job. We live behind the scenes lifting others up. A great reminder that being a good person matters in the long run. THANK YOU.”

Deshaun Watson: Would've Been Hell If Texans Traded Will Fuller V

Nov 10, 2020 9:18 AM

The Houston Texans listened to offers for Will Fuller V leading up to the Nov. 3 trade deadline, but ultimately kept the wide receiver.

If Fuller had been traded, it wouldn't have sat well with Deshaun Watson.

"It would have been hell if they would have did that, for sure," the quarterback said. "Honestly. I'm glad to continue to play with Will. We've been making a lot of big, big plays since I came into this league, [and we're] going to continue to do that as we continue to go the rest of this year and hopefully the rest of our careers."

Fuller has caught a touchdown in six straight games, the longest streak of the season.

Fuller, who is playing on his fifth-year option, said "it really sucked" to be "shopped around like that."

"Just giving this organization my all, coming to work every day, very unselfish player, do everything they ask, and then, just to be shopped around ... I did feel a certain type of way," he said. "But like I said, I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to play with Deshaun and continue to try to get wins with this organization."

J.J. Watt: 'I'm Not Looking To Rebuild'

Nov 6, 2020 8:36 AM

The Houston Texans are 1-6 and it looks as though they might be starting over.

J.J. Watt, 31, isn't ready to endure another rebuilding process.

The pass rusher was asked Wednesday if he believes he'll finish his career in Houston.

"I don't think it's any secret that I don't have 10 years left in this league," Watt said. "I personally believe that I do have a few more great ones left in me. But you also can't ... I'm not looking to rebuild. I'm looking to go after a championship, and that's what I want to do. So, whatever is in the best interest of the Houston Texans, that's in the best interest of myself."

Watt has one season left on his contract extension, worth $17.5 million. With none of that money guaranteed.
